Jayne Moorby

Last night we watched the incredible Jalen Ngonda, if you don’t know him, check him out, it’s like seeing Sam Cooke, Otis, Marvin and Smokey all rolled into one. His performance was sublime, his falsetto voice and ability to hold a note are something else! Great to also bump into Ian!

In honour of Soul Mining turning 43 here’s some from Matt and the gang #WeekendSingles

A couple of today’s finds in Bristol for #WeekendSingles

Can’t stop obsessing about what a brilliant gig Dexys was last night 😍

Happy 43rd birthday to Soul Mining, an absolutely brilliant album, it’ll forever be in my all time top ten. So hard to choose a favourite track, especially if you include Giant 😍

A late addition to #WeekendSingles

Watching the Pet Shop Boys on TOTP 86 playing Suburbia, what a great tune. If you could only have one Pet Shop Boys tune to take to a desert island, which would you pick? It’s So Hard to choose!

The suns going down on a beautiful autumn day and the sky is glowing amber and pink, the candles are on and I’ve just poured a glass of wine. I’ve been wanting to play The Bathers all day, now this moment seems too perfect 🍁🌅

37 years old today, an absolutely stunning record 💙 (But still only the second best album released by the Blue Nile)

Having listened to Obama’s speech last night we visited the Lincoln statue in Manchester and saw the plaque in tribute to the cotton workers

Awesome to hear Barack Obama speak last night, such an icon, a thoughtful, clever, balanced & kind man, he recharged our hope. He talked about the power of stories and left us with one, recounted here ❤️

Wonderful to see the music community coming together for one of their own, Ana, who spends her life supporting music. You cannot beat the Glasgow scene, what a night it will be, I’m gutted to miss it 🎶💃 People really do make Glasgow ❤️ #WeekendSingles @trevorpalmer.bsky.social

Really excited to watch Obama speak

Will do Jayne. She was at the same gig as us on Friday but we missed her, we think she was on the guest list. We should see her soon as I know we have some of the same gigs coming up like Mick Head. There is also a gig in Liverpool arranged for her in January which will be good to support 😃

Band on TOTP called Slik, 1976, a very young Midge Ure on vocals! Never seen them before. Anyone got one of their records? #WeekendSingles

Here’s #My9Albums (choosing just nine is hard!)

If you were going on a desert island tomorrow and you could take one Aztec Camera song with you, which would you choose? 🌴

Just finished watching Colin from Accounts, and I loved it. The last episode reminded how lovely this song is ❤️

Happy Birthday Bryan Ferry, 81 today. (Photo by Chalkie Davies with quite a story behind it, I’ll share it below)

September #BenchBooze is our decadent month, we always have a bottle of champagne and set the world to rights. Beautiful colours tonight as summer turns to autumn ❤️

Sure some of the #WeekendSingles will be heading to this www.nme.com/news/music/t...

How fab is my birthday cake? ❤️

A little bit of Roxy Music for BBC 6 Music #TShirtDay 💕

Belle & Sebastian’s gig tonight is cancelled due to a freight issue. Stuart has posted this, what a class act they are, how many bands would do this? ❤️

How cool is Ian Rankin, I love this playlist he’s made for his new book. It’ll certainly be on my reading list! #BlueNile 💙 open.spotify.com/playlist/4pX...

Inspired by @philk282.bsky.social here’s a few Talk Talk records, a late appearance for #WeekendSingles 🦋

Love this song Huey is playing on the radio, now need to find out who The Replacements are…

Spotted in Liverpool. Baby he was born to clean 🧼

Turning 50 has been a blast, thanks to everyone who sent me flowers, brought cheese, ate pies & cake and shared terrible old photos 😆 Being surrounded by people you love & enjoying life is an absolute privilege, I’m excited to start the next decade feeling grateful & happy ❤️

A lovely birthday pressie that fills a long standing hole in my collection! #WeekendSingles 🌼

Found a Linn record this morning, obviously I know the Blue Nile history, but I’ve never seen another!
