This is a spectacular project. Jaw dropping. But even more jaw dropping is the success of the EPA action that led to the rebirth of the Burning River. Our planet will do its best to repair itself but it could use a little help.

spectacular if anyone is now inspired to draw the 72 different species of fish that swim in the Cuyahoga River

Excellent point

Susan Collins assumed that loud protestor was NOT hers. Why? Because he was yelling about the climate crisis. That’s the real story, here. Not whether @troyjackson207.bsky.social should apologize for rightfully telling Collins to “shut up,” as if the U.S. president doesn’t publicly cuss daily.

Interesting thread for textile wonks or really anyone.

I study historical textiles. I’ve touched 300-year old linen that made me emotional with how fine it was, that we literally cannot make anymore. One thing this article doesn’t mention is the impact of climate change on commercial textile production — fabric itself is worse now! 🧵

There's no forgiving this. No living it down. It's a stain on our humanity. When all this is over, the monsters who did this should be pariahs. And the soulless thugs who cheered it on while dehumanizing Haitian immigrants should be reminded of what they did every day of their lives.

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

The situation in Haiti is terrifying. On Sunday, 150 gunmen swept down on a town to kill, rape, loot, and burn. 22 people were executed in a churchyard. 52 were taken hostage. Stephen Miller mockingly says Haiti is safe and ICE just sent its second deportation flight this month; with kids on board.

Shameful

Screamer Jim@screamerjim.bsky.social

The Springfield Ohio bullshit is like, the most pronounced and clear cut example of American moral rot I’ve seen in forever. Literally asking Haitians to come to revitalize your hollowed-out community, and then subjecting them to this racial terror and humiliation after they do? Fucking hell

I love this. Senate candidate Annie Andrews says she decided to jump into the race the day RFK Jr was nominated to lead HHS. She’s a pediatrician. Saw what was coming & decided she couldn’t sit on the sidelines. THIS is what I’m talking about. Feeling called to serve & actually following through.

Here it is. All laid out for anyone still confused.

The issue with Platner, and this whole debacle, isn't about "an outsider." It's not about "real people" running for office either. Unless, of course, you believe that "real people" and "outsiders" are always misogynists with Nazi tattoos, sexist and racist Reddit post, and rape accusations. 1/

You might think that a country with the FIRST AMENDMENT to their Constitution guaranteeing freedom of the press would at least rank in the top ten for press freedom. Or 12th? 18th? 27th? How about 64th? Yeah. 64th. That’s cool. 🙄

The @pressfreedomtracker.us has recorded nearly 200 LAPD press freedom violations involving journalists. On May Day, reporters were handcuffed and struck with batons. With the World Cup coming to LA, FPF's @adamrose.bsky.social challenged LAPD to prevent an international incident. Watch ⬇️

Well people DID marry him and DID become friends with him and DID do business with him and DID work for him. And many are STILL doing all of these things. And here we are.

Joe Walsh@walshfreedom.bsky.social

You wouldn’t marry someone who lied to you like this. You wouldn’t be friends with someone who lied to you like this. You wouldn’t do business with someone who lied to you like this. You wouldn’t work for someone who lied to u like this. You’d want nothing to do with someone who lied to u like this.

Common sense solutions

AltYellostoneNatPar@altyellonatpark.org

We present solutions That are cheaper than the ongoing problems. for instance Public Lands Grazing It costs US taxpayers over $500 million in management, range improvements & maintenance. (taxpayers for common sense). Fees collected, 21 million. $479 million net loss We suggest Rewild the West

I suspect Trump will announce (falsely) that some sort of deal has been made. Or he'll offer an extension on the ground "progress" has been made. If it means 93 million people don't die, I'll take it.

I’m appalled. My friend, Frank is similarly appalled. Please get your shit together.

Frank is appalled and would like humans to please get their shit together.

You are up to date.
