I have a student named Bodhi and I asked him if he knew why he was named that. He said “Someone in my mom’s favorite movie is named Bodhi.” I asked if he knew what movie and he said “Something about surfing I think.” S-Tier parenting.

Saw a video on YouTube where some guy had AI Bob Uecker make big calls in the 2026 postseason, I watched about 3 seconds and I gotta say… fuck that guy. Just completely unnecessary.

Vinyl of the day: Gabor Szabo-Mizrab, 1972. An introspective sounding album from the Hungarian guitarist. He features with Billy Cobham on drums, Hubert Laws on woodwinds and Ron Carter on bass (yes, my man Ron Carter is on the bass).

Vinyl of the day: Warrant-Cherry Pie, 1990. The second album from the LA hair band. Reached #7 and had 4 top 100 hits: the title track (10), I Saw Red (10), Uncle Tom’s Cabin (78), and Blind Faith (88). Fun fact: C. C. DeVille of Poison played lead guitar on the title track.

A selection of ads from the 1958 World Series program. Surely this year’s version will have the same local flavor, right? Hupy & Abraham, Gruber Law Offices, Usingers, etc…

My grandpa call my dad out of school sick so he could take him to the 1958 World Series (and of course he made copious notes, as was his style). Now I get to take my kid to the World Series. It hasn’t sunk in yet.

The Ohio St game featured zero political ads, but it did feature some version of the ‘Every day I’m huslin’ Meta ad every break and that may have been worse.

Vinyl of the day: The Greg Kinh Band-RocKihnRoll, 1981. The 6th album from the San Francisco group. Features their 2nd highest charting single, The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write’ Em), which reached #32. It’s pretty solid 80s rock. Worth a listen.

My low level opinion is that if they use some combination of Gasser/Patrick/Drohan, who they haven’t seen once yet, I’ll be more confident than if they start Ashby as an opener or whatever. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Vinyl of the day: Canned Heat, 1967. The debut album from the LA blues group. Reached #76 and remained on the charts for half a year. The entire album is covers of popular blues songs, but they do it well and are still active.

Vinyl of the day: Electric Light Orchestra-Olè ELO, 1976. A compilation of hits from the bands first several albums. The biggest hits represented are Can’t Get It Out Of My Head, Evil Woman, and Strange Magic.

Tony Plush and Gomez are top 5 all time Brewers for me as far as 2000s on.

Carlos Gomez will throw out the first pitch before Game 1 of the NLDS along with Teddy Higuera. Nyjer Morgan and Eric Thames on duty for Game 2 duties.
