I recall reading or seeing somewhere that in the old days, if a person was bring hanged and the rope broke, they were set free. Was this ever really a thing? Even if not, seems to me that if a person survives not just one but two attempts at executing them, maybe someone doesn't want them dead.

The Felon promised every adult $5,000 if Republicans win the midterm. He has also promised a $5K DOGE dividend and a $2K tariff dividend. Anyone seen any of this money? Sumbitch owes me 7 grand already, and I haven't seen a damn dime.

Remember the reason for the season.

LABOR DAY a day to celebrate the ppl who got kids out the mines and factories, got rid of the company store and created the 5 day work week amount other things.... HAPPY LABOR DAY UNION STRONG ....

All I'm saying is, if one of our enemies, say Russia or China, was able to get a mole into the Oval Office with a mission to weaken and eventually destroy America, their blueprint would be exactly what The Felon is doing right now.

I was, however, reflecting on my family history. My mother is from Robeson County North Carolina, my father is from Robbins North Carolina, my grandfather was from the mountains of North Carolina. IYKYK. We are hard to fucking kill. Doesn't mean I want to get sick.

New Bass report: I'm having lots of fun. Learning; Spanish Moon-Little Feat Papa Was a Rolling Stone-(yeah, I know, incredibly simple, but fun) Come Together-of course

New toy. I haven't picked up a bass in 45 years, preferring instead to be a sporadic and mediocre guitar player. But I was feeling the itch for that low end. Any of you bassists recommend some tunes for beginners?

So many great quotes in Jordan Harper's A VIOLENT MASTERPIECE. This one is particularly relevant: “God put wrath on the list of sins—after murdering every firstborn child of Egypt.

So do I understand this correctly? If a state doesn't turn over its voter rolls to the Federal Government, the US Postal Service won't deliver some of their mail? There is no way in Hell this will survive a legal challenge.

Thinking tonight about some of the Top 40 songs I thought I was too cool to like at some point in my life that I now regard as absolute bangers. Examples: Hold the Line-Toto Any Way You Want It-Journey Your thoughts?

Last week of criminal court here in Moore County has been quite a ride. Long days, suprises both welcome and unwelcome, and now I 'm done except for one civil contempt hearing before moving on. It's been bittersweet. I'm going to miss most of the people. But here we go.

Who among us remembers a time when the Republicans, including The Felon, accused Barack Obama of treason and called for his impeachment because the JCPOA let Iran keep its ballistic missiles and gave them back their money we'd frozen?

You want to see real derangement, look at the people who are still obsessed with the gender of a woman whose tenure as First Lady ended over 10 years ago.

I misplaced my USB-C wired earbuds a couple of weeks ago. Just ordered another pair to pick up from Best Buy. So you just know the lost ones are gonna magically turn up.

WTF is with people who never seem to realize a phone conversation is over? All the useful information has been conveyed, all the questions have been answered at least twice, and yet they yammer on and on.

So, the news: After 37 years in private practice, I've accepted an offer to work as an Assistant Public Defender in nearby Hoke County. I'll be able to concentrate on protecting my clients from government overreach and sloppy police work and not have to worry about running an office.

REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES: An incredibly silly concept turned into a pretty damn good movie thanks to great performances by Sally Field, Lewis Pullman, and Alfred Molina as the voice of the Octopus. Yes, you read that right.

Trump's ever-expanding list of taxpayer grifts: -$1.8B slush fund for political allies -$1B for ballroom "security" -$1B for Qatar jet refurbishments -$230M in DOJ "compensation" -$100M+ for golf outings When he says he "doesn't think about Americans' financial situation," I believe him.
