Living large and happy in the Bay of Plenty NZ - found myself to be more left wing as I get older - firm believer in the need for action on climate change, poverty, and equity for women, LGBTIQA+ and Māori all those things empower the world to be better.

I am just going to leave this here - sums everything up nicely - Luxon is no leader - he is a shinny head that managed to fail upwards. www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3606...
And so begins the next phase in the Kakistocracy that America has decided to turn into.
President Donald Trump imposed new tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China — signing them at his Mar-a-Lago club on Saturday. It's a reversal of virtually duty-free trade between the three nations that's existed for several years. cnn.it/4hXLtR1

The vast majority of people in Western nations are a 1 serious economic crisis from living in their car or on the streets + capitalism for someone to have lots someone has to have a lot less. Never look down on someone suffering because they are direct out come of the system & it could be you
As much as I wish this would make a difference - the reality is that it is a Hail Mary sort of action - there is no way KCIII will do anything www.theguardian.com/world/2024/d...
And yet the Government is still trying to make public transport options harder and harder and therefore reinforcing their own stupid arguments.
New Zealand seems to have the most expensive per-km transport project costs in the OECD. Rather than seeking to identify and understand the causes, our politicians use this as a wedge to wind up voters and justify political interference in projects—which drives costs even higher.
This is a great piece and goes through why people didn't vote in the US basically why would you vote to protect something that people believe isn't working/worth saving. 1/3 eladnehorai.substack.com/p/the-deeper...
Soft and ineffective is the PM’s middle name besides Winnie doesn’t want to give up so why should anyone else. www.stuff.co.nz/politics/360...
Too f*#King right!! Those two ladies have endured years of abuse and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. What they did is the modern media equivalent to the Chamberlain piece of paper!
When I think about Joe & Mika appeasing Trump so they can maintain their comfy lives, I think about Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss enduring years of harassment for simply doing their jobs. So when Joe defends it by saying people need to live in the real world, he should respectfully go screw himself.
Every kiwi needs to read this to understand why the Act Party are doing what they are doing - on the face of it it has a racial point of view it really is the continuation of their efforts to sell the country to their rich mates and screw everyone along the way. thespinoff.co.nz/politics/30-...
More than Acts share of the 2023 - more than happy to put my name on the petition to kill the bill! our.actionstation.org.nz/petitions/ka...
It is great to see thousands(est. 35k) march onto Parliament peacefully expressing their rights and outrage at politician's attempt to stigmatise and create a sense of fear, envy, outrage and anger against Māori. Equity is worth fighting for.
You are up to date.
