I'm sure I suffer from TDS. But I think with good reason. In 2016 I was incredulous that the US had done the unthinkable and relieved in 2020 when he LOST the election. But I feared it wasn't the end. My point: if I, of decidedly average intelligence, could see where we were headed in 2024

and see Trump for the extreme danger that he posed to all of us then wtf were folks more intelligent than me and more experienced in the world of power politics thinking. The evidence was there, stark and obvious. Were/are they complicit and equally cruel or just irredeemably stupid?!

Before anyone is minded to put their X against a Reform candidate they might want to remember that the RNLI, one of our bravest and noblest institutions was once labeled by Farage as a 'taxi service' for asylum seekers. Where you see hate and division, you can be sure that Farage isn't too far away.

Feeling 'left behind' or being angry with 'the establishment' is no longer an excuse for voting for far right parties. Those who vote for Trump in the US or Reform in the UK do it because they want to. They are complicit, not victims.

Sherlock Holmes wouldn't need to bother his powers of deduction or Hercule Poirot exercise his little grey cells to understand their motivation. But still, Farage is the man to battle the establishment and fight for the common man and woman. As we say in Glasgow, 'Aye, right!'

Two points to debate. Should the King's visit to the US go ahead? Should the world cup be moved from the US? My instinct is no to the first and yes to the second but should we look beyond Trump and not view the US through a Trump lens?

You are up to date.
