Since her debut in 2022, Sakura Mizushima has been the beating heart of Actwres girl’Z. Just a few days ago, Mizushima announced she would be graduating from the promotion at the end of the year and begin freelancing as a professional wrestler in 2027. teppen.life/sakura-mizus...

In August, Riko Niikawa announced she would no longer release music under her "Yuusari" alias. A big leap for an artist, akin to removing a protective shell, but for Niikawa, it felt liberating. Niikawa's first single since the change is "Your Back Won't Melt". teppen.life/riko-niikawa...

Been DMing somebody about Japanese weirdo music venues & their spirtual wrestling equivalents. Polaris & Soup are Korakuen & Face. Oriental Force is Shinkiba. Perhaps MoguMogu is Green Hall, Bar Isshee is IR Dojo & Nanahari is Post Di Amistad?

Our September playlist is up, featuring your typical, sensical combination of artists like Ålborg, Kaede Miyano, Uchudan, John Prine, Bill Wurtz, Clutch, and Sayuri Namba? wow yeah thats a teppen playlist for sure teppen.life/teppens-sept...

In December, I took a train from Fujisawa to catch Nagisa Murakami & Maya Akechi perform at a small book/music shop in Itõ City, Shizuoka. Tsugumi is an extension of the shop owner Naho, & her interests. Here’s a chat with the shop owner, Naho. teppen.life/a-sanctuary-...

Rick here, I just took the time to add zeros to the beginning of the numbers to all the past games we did on the website so they actually show up in order. While doing this I remembered we had zero contributions for a lot of games... (1/2)

so this is rich's best work I adore this so so so so so so much.

Working on some projects & this is a favorite photo of mine. It reminds of my 80s skating parties from grade school when everyone slow skated to Tiffany. Momose won the Miss iD2020 creative genius award. They participated alongside Aya of the Cosmic Angels. Tam Nakano was a Miss iD2019. small 🌎

That’s how ya end a video series. Those AgZ shows are probably gonna stay on the shelf forever at this point.

prob the most teppen event ever probably

Kinoko Teikoku's incredibly influential first four records are being pressed to vinyl for the first time. Records whose DNA you can hear in every Teppen playlist. The first three, especially, are among my all time favorites. So I rambled. teppen.life/kinoko-teiko...

My favorite thing about my recent Japan trips is wandering into a venue and catching some music - thankfully I'll just have to drive like 13 hours rather than sit on a plane for... 13 hours. Srsly tho. Stoked for NMFT and u should check out my preview of the tour: teppen.life/tokyo-comes-...

Operation C – War is our Destiny –Jeff Brown "The music absolutely rips and is epic; you want it while killing waves of bad guys (the first boss theme is an all-timer)." @jeffbrown82.bsky.social illo by @supercoolnstuff.bsky.social yokoikids.wordpress.com/2026/08/18/o...

Days 3 and 4 of the Great South Bay Music Festival are among the best single-days of the festival's history. Gov't Mule, Bruce Hornsby, My Morning Jacket all rocked the main stage, while plenty of local acts, including The Astral Party could be seen around the fest. teppen.life/2026-great-s...

Thanks to @cerysmatthews.bsky.social for having Cities and Memory on her BBC 6music show this weekend - it was great to chat about disappearing sounds and the relationships between sound and memory, and spin a few favourite tunes. Listen again here (from c. 1hr in): www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

"Kyle Busch was out there playing the role of Mayumi Ozaki at 200 miles per hour." Shared some of my thoughts and photos of Kyle Busch and his career. There will truly never be another Rowdy. teppen.life/nascars-gate...

This is what Dirk Gently meant by "the fundamental interconnectedness of all things" From Bonnie Tyler to Dan the Dad, everything is Actwres

2LDK (2003) The stress of being an actress & the pressures of society break two roommates going for the same part. A dark comedy that takes place in one apartment with the tension rising steadily. Directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi & is part of the Duel Project. Just over an hour & is pretty darn good.

Our June 2026 playlist is up now! 50+ tracks from smaller artists, emerging artists, and whatever "Weezer" is. Some AOTY contenders from Trooper Salute and Bellows, incredible new stuff from Hammer Head Shark. An Anime OST from Manami Kakudo and so much more!!! teppen.life/teppens-june...

The Man Who Would Be King - Jeff Brown Jeff Brown shares his thoughts on The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls. @jeffbrown82.bsky.social @itsmerickv.com yokoikids.wordpress.com/2026/06/23/t...

Did a marathon this weekend and finished Frog For Whom The Bell Tolls on my old GBA (via flashcart & translated rom). Fun stuff. Gonna write up a bit for @yokoikids.bsky.social

My collab with yamo aka Momose Yasunaga for @citiesandmemory.bsky.social yamo: "I created a collage of sounds-incorporating the exotic resonance of bells and the lyrical whisper of the wind as it drifts through narrow alleyways." music.youtube.com/watch?v=j-iF...

Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead (2011) Fulci style rise outta shit, Raimi/Jackson gore homages. Tapeworms sticking outta buttholes…I have no clue about modern cinema. Yuki was in Mighty Lady as Yumi Agawa’s daughter. 7 yr run, eternal schoolgirl, Noboru Iguchi surely tried to recruit her for JAV.

A lot of great music in May. This is what's had our ears all month. Featuring iVy, Hovvdy, Regallily, a cameo from our friend Chris B., and even a couple of Beatles? Check it out! teppen.life/teppens-may-...

2016 was such an important year for me, in no small part thanks to frankie cosmos. so excited to relive those days, see familiar faces and celebrate 10 years of next thing tonight ❤️

Out now is Dubious Electrics, 9 of my electrics painstakingly sampled for your own use. 30 yrs of collecting weirdo gear from thrift stores & guitar shops. Harmony, Hagstroms, Eko, Wurlitzer, Galanti & my Winston electric banjo. shop.karoryfer.com/products/dub...

My phone randomly highlighted the former champ & her pig pants. 100% always found my camera when I covered AWG. 2024 at the Shinkiba station, while wheeling her suitcase, she broke away from the group to walk over to me & politely interrupted my convo to thank me for always writing about the crew.

Beat this the other day, found the majority of the game super easy except Captain Silver himself. Took multiple tries & culminated in my yelling “go to Hell you stupid fucking tree ghost!” I was so mad “no I can’t beat this fucking game. I beat Holy Diver! I no death run Wanpaku Graffiti for fun!”

This is pretty on brand considering the history of Tony George banging on about the league needing more American drivers & manufacturers. In the mid 90s he said “We wanted to replace the practice of foreign drivers buying rides with American riders earning them through ability.”

Kunoichi Hunters - Sentenced to Female Hell (2014) Sleaze that’ll alienate normal folk while frustrating the pervs. Asami a really good actress who debuted in a theatrical film but quickly went JAV & pink films. Later years found a home in straight to video scuzz. I kinda want to interview her.

It's @bandcamp.com friday. Are you an artist on Bandcamp? Reply with a link to your stuff here 👇🏾 and I'll repost as many as i can throughout the day. (I do got other stuff to do, tho, so it may be sporadic)

Wrestling is art, and Labor of Love's 'The Exhibition' proved that in an art gallery in Philly this last weekend with a card that featured Best Bros, Emi Sakura, Lee Moriarty, Daisuke Sasaki and Tim Thatcher Rich rambles about it, and ponders the ethics behind cloning: teppen.life/wrestling-is...

Baby Assassins (2021) Been on my list since I went to Act’s Time Machine Girl screening. The theater had a screening of all 3 Baby Assassins films. A darkish comedy/action film about 2 young assassins coming of age. Somehow Chisato & the villain Himari are the same person, & that is Naho Yamada.

Red Blade (2018) Bullied girl enters fantasy world to become a kunoichi. Noteworthy is Ryoko Sakimura is the cool villain. Had a nice chat w/ her backstage at First Dream 2025, also have a one off portrait via my ring side photographer from her match. Maybe dig it out soon. I used to do stuff.

Sometimes he’s all about the buckets

The Machine Girl (2008) JAV director does massive blood-soaked revenge at the start of the 2010s Japanese gore wave. Never seen this one, really fun.
