In places that aren't complete dystopian hellscapes, what do people do with their time? Like, imagine if you weren't constantly on edge, watching the destruction of your democracy in real time — where would all of that energy go? What joys would you focus on instead? What would you build, learn, DO?

The bottom line: the torture of brown people is more important than feeding hungry children... and really, anything else. To this administration, he most important thing, the key policy driver, is the torture of brown people.

Current mood: furious with Mitch McConnell and John Roberts and every single miscreant who voted for the Gestapo in November. May God — if one exists and hasn't given up on us — have mercy on our souls. We're the bullies now. We're the bad guys.

I'm not being obtuse. These are literal posts I've seen in the past few days. NONE of the ones in the Netherlands are about basic, vital needs. So, so many of the ones here ARE. Food. So many are about FOOD.

I wonder what life would be like if I wasn't constantly worried, overwhelmed, and anxious about basic life things. What would I do with my energy if I wasn't always struggling? Even when I'm relaxing, even in my sleep: worry.

t would help explain the war-zone of Seattle if we knew a little more about who these people are, and I felt like Yara/Lev/Abby really helped that along in the second game. Will they expand on that in the third season? Will S3 be Abby's perspective?

I think they REALLY needed to do more of the perspective shift in THIS season. For example, they did a FANTASTIC job with the tragedy of Mel, but we don't care about Owen, and we should, just like we care about Jesse.

And why not explore more of the Scars vs WLFs (Lev and Yara?)??? Like that one kitchen scene with Isaac helped explain things a bit, but I'd have loved something more like how Kathleen helped the Henry and Sam storyline from S1.

And where is the sense of urgency from the second game, the drive, the danger? The pacing was fantastic for the E7 (finale), but the rest of the time, the whole Seattle thing just felt kind of dull? Like there was so URGENCY. At times it seemed too lighthearted in a way the game absolutely did not.

I also loved the second game, but it was HARD to love that second game. So I knew going in, season two wasn't going to be anything like season one. It was going to be complicated, just like the second game.

We all knew what was going to happen to Joel, and why, and when, and how, but it was still wrenching and still awful. The writers' decision to add the blizzard horde in Jackson was brilliant; it helped explain why Ellie and Dina didn't immediately set out for Seattle.

I absolutely LOVED the first game and first season of the show. Honestly, upon a rewatch, season one is still some of the best television I've ever seen. Compelling characters, believable and interesting story arcs, stellar acting, writing, and more.

Even the music was fantastic. Depeche Mode and The Cure? Yes please! I also loved how it was true to the game, but added characters and backstories (Kathleen, more Bill and Frank) to enrich the universe.
