I didn’t intend on this story coming out the way that it did, @quitewriteed.bsky.social, but I hope you enjoy it. @notquitewrite.com

Top 32. Not too shabby for a story that was an actual double bird to the prompts. 😆

FS. 🫡 It’ll probably get booted in its first duel. 🤘🏻

This little baby was very bold and cute. I adore magpies.

And now here is some ice hockey. AIHL semi final 2.

Now Optimus Prime has died. I don’t like this timeline. 😞

Yup. Saturn, Neptune and Pluto are all in retrograde. Me no likey.

How do you know when you’re kinda done with writing comps? Or is there a planet in retrograde somewhere…? Asking for a friend…

32 and out. 🫡 #SolsticeOwl A good example of how subjective this whole writing thing is. Went out to story in my own house that was lower in house rankings. It’s clear when you break it all down that 3 of the judges for that round preferred certain aspects to others. Interesting stuff.

Not me watching sewing vlogs on YouTube and wondering why I’m not doing sewing vlogs cause, holy moly… 🫠🥴

First time cracking the FS barrier for a pro-round. 1st place for prompt integration as well. Yeewwww! 🤘🏻

Bubbles after work today because 06/08 is a day of significance and I’m celebrating that shit! Yay to the yeet!

Team Amanda again for this round. @akscotland.bsky.social @notquitewrite.com

Oop! Looking here 👀 … somebody is published in print…

Wrote a thing. 🙃

Another fizzer to usher in a new month. How lively. No traction with Elegant Literature this month. I guess my writing isn’t neither elegant nor literary enough. (side eye).

Made it through 1 round of FS this time.

WB Verdant Raven 250 word 🐦‍⬛… Well, she escaped the house to battle another day. BUT! Will Pochette live on past the first round, or will she get rounded up and sent packing? Stay tuned, folks. @writingbattle.bsky.social

Well that was unexpected… 5th in Round 3 (apparently I have no idea what a good story is, because I thought this was boring…) and 28th overall in Twisted Tournament. @twistinthetale.bsky.social

Only 11 days to go! The first theme is SO GOOD, you’re going to want to be in! 🌙 midnight-writers.com#midnight-mag...

Furious Fiction written and submitted. This one was a solo effort, but it is what it is. #FuriousFiction

@elisescott.bsky.social it arrived! Just in time for some long weekend reading!

Things on a Thursday.

I blame @quitewriteed.bsky.social and @akscotland.bsky.social of @notquitewrite.com flesh fiction infamy for the fact that my latest WB effort has erotic undertones that I don’t realise I’d written in… 😳

Writing views… Gosford Library

When do you consider yourself enough of a writer to ask to join a local writing group? 🤔 Asking for a friend…

That’s a wrap on May TT!

First draft for R3 Twist done. Who the hell am I?!? @twistinthetale.bsky.social

New beast. 😍

Not the week for me. Oh well. Congrats to all the LL peeps! @notquitewrite.com @akscotland.bsky.social @quitewriteed.bsky.social

WB results. Smack in the middle with crap marks for pacing (oofffff, really? Ouch!) and creativity… (fair, fair. I’ll cop that.) Off to move about my day and will come back later to do the autopsy. Peace. @writingbattle.bsky.social

If you, like me, are concerned about the direction our country will go if a Trump Tower is built in our country, then join me in objecting! petitions.getup.org.au/petitions/st... @getup.org.au

So, someone came to the ice hockey with me today! An exciting, high energy, game against Newcastle Northstars with the Central Coast Rhinos winning 6-3. 🦏🥅🏒⛸️

Shaking my head right now. I know it’s vague, but I have to let it out somehow. 🤨😑🖕🏻 At least I keep getting lots of good material to base emotionally driven stories off? #silverlining?

Late night submission a-go-go over here. @notquitewrite.com #TeamAmanda

Well, we have chosen a team and are halfway through a first draft - waving the flag for Team @akscotland.bsky.social this time around. Sorry @quitewriteed.bsky.social

The cutest snail mail arrived today @elisescott.bsky.social 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

After much stalling, brain tumble weeds and a genre re-roll that landed me in the genre I didn’t want (steampunk, ugh) I am happy to say that I finally have traction on a story and so far I’m pleased with what’s going on. Only 1900 words to go. Will I make it? #writingbattle

If you can support this kickstarter, it would be much appreciated. 🥰

Summing up how I am feeling about my TT efforts with a line from the immortal Lina Lamont ‘Gee, this is dumb.’ At least we’re having fun not over investing in time, effort and expectation.

Anyone else find 250 words to be incredibly difficult?

Well, it was written in 4 hrs with a few glasses of Pinot noir on board… can’t attest to the quality of the story, but TT R1 has been submitted.

Which one will be next…? 👀

Erm… ok. I thought this was a dumpster fire. Apparently I don’t know shit, cause no one else agreed. 8/10 and into Final Showdown. In the immortal words of Mugatu… ‘I feel like I taking crazy pills!’
