Life wouldn’t be funny if it made sense. Mets-Jets-Nets since 1980. Doug Flynn is my spirit animal.

The Stearns Seven: 1. Bichette and a contract that makes trading him really difficult 2. Peralta for two Top-100 prospects 3. Polanco over Alonso (and the multiple other options) 4. Nimmo for Semien 5. Trading for Luis Robert 6. Last year’s bullpen trades 7. Frankie Montas What did I miss?

Methinks the #Mets have a magic number of 1 to clinch a top-6 pick next year. If either the Reds or Mariners win, the Mets stay in the top 6. If I read the rules right, the tiebreaker is last year’s record and the Mets were worse than either team.

One benefit of the inevitable lockout and loss of games…minor leaguers still play. So Semien sits while Rojas and Voit and Pitre get ready to (hopefully) replace him

Simple rule on baseline calls: If the infield literally has a line where one side has all kinds of cleat marks and the other is pristine, a runner who steps into the untouched part is definitely out of the baseline. #UmpShow

Watching the #Yankees game since the #Mets are literally unwatchable tonight….and the #UmpShow is extreme. Five overturned calls and we just started the top of the 3rd.

Switched to rooting for the #Astros vs the #Yankees Heard about Lombard but haven’t really seen him. His 17th game and he’s only 21 so too early to draw any conclusions. But he has four errors and three extra base hits and bad hard-hit and barrel rates. Can we slow down before he is Jeter 2.0?

Why are we giving Stock all these chances? Are the #Mets seriously considering him as a 2027 rotation possibility? If so, what am I missing? Best case is he seems like a guy who may give you five okay innings.

Instead of Tong getting valuable experience, we have Stock. Five starts. Two truly terrible ones. Three others where he has gone a total of 13.2 innings. Why, #Mets why?

Following the Yankees until the #Mets start. Gotta love a batter who challenges a 2-1 pitch with two out and no one on in the top of the 1st. And gets it wrong by about three inches. pitch 4 in this pic #ABS

Along with everything else going wrong this year, the @SNY telecasts have taken a massive step back. Latest example: Benge makes a great running catch to end the 1st and we’re in commercial before he has taken five steps toward the dugout. Replay?

Can someone explain the argument that I am seeing that the #Mets are loading up on kid-level prospects so they can trade them in the offseason MLB talent? A trio of these guys is worth two months of a rental now but is magically worth multiple years of MLB talent in the offseason? What am I missing?

A Sunday day game where half the team is planning to fly to a new town tomorrow. Against Alcantara. With a guy coming off thoracic problems. In a meaningless season. If I were a betting man….I’d think the Marlins might just win today.
