Yesterday, I released my eighth poetry chapbook. It's called The Troubled Stateside after an old New York hardcore punk record. As always, $15 to Chicago Abortion Fund OR a trans friend's PayPal, and I'll send you the .PDF plus my seven other chapbooks if you'd like those too.

NSPM 7 instructs federal law enforcement to use every tool available against organizations and people who criticize the administration's policies and espouse "anti-Christian" ideas. The full scope and extent of the investigations it authorizes remains unknown.

Have just one panel of Juan Giménez glory as a treat. It's from the Metabarons, a berserk, demented, and operatic piece of scifi that's rattled in my brain ever since I completed my first reading of the book.

No better time to read her best of, I suppose.

I now have permission to share something I hoped would be revealed with much more fanfare I spent more than 3 years as one of the writers of #MassEffect4 It was one of the greatest privileges & GLORIOUS challenges of my life So when I say I am devastated by the end of #MassEffect I REALLY mean it

I know we're all excited about whomever the new hot artist is but folks, P. Craig Russell is still out here turning in showstoppers.

With love to Cursive, every time I play The Recluse, or another song from The Ugly Organ, halfway through I think "I could listen to Some Red-Handed Slight Of Hand instead" and I do just that.

These questions are only difficult if you believe Mitch McConnell & Co didn't change the rules of the game when he packed the court the first change he got. 1 and 2: We're there already. 3: Irrelevant to the argument of packing the court. 4: Nothing else worked, pack the fucking court.

Calls for expanding #SCOTUS are entirely (and increasingly) understandable. But as today's "One First" explains, there are at least four difficult questions that those who support expansion should have to answer—especially as compared to other possible reforms: www.stevevladeck.com/p/bonus-257-...

It's gonna be tough to follow a Hall Of Famer, but I think Phil and Mr. Lemire are up to the task.

Three comics in two minutes. A quick discussion of the merits of the two first volumes of Santos Sisters, plus a plug for Regicide #3, which debuts this week. @fantagraphics.bsky.social , please thank Tucker on my behalf.

@liamsharp.bsky.social I read a couple Conan stories before I read yours (PCR, Ms. Cloonan, Mr. Harren), and it was only in reading your Conan work that the character clicked for me. As I hope your peers tell you, it is not merely that you can be proud of your work, but you SHOULD be proud of it.

This literally happened to me with my most recent phone interview. "what are you doing next week", "you'll hear from us by Friday" and when they did get back to me the week after that call, it was a form rejection.

Scary

Thanks to the DSTLRY Humble Bundle sale, I finished a couple collections from that publisher. One of those books was The Big Burn. No one does a bad job on the book, I was never lost, but for a premise of a heist set in Hell, Hell's casino looks awfully pedestrian.

@dstlry.bsky.social First: Apologies for asking about tech problem during NYCC. Second: I hit the login button on the homepage of DSTLRY website and I'm not taken to a login page. Please advise.

...wait. Marvel hasn't been paying on time?

Frighty MacDonald@comixace.bsky.social

"It's a chance to add to the biggest ongoing story ever told. But creators need to be treated fairly, paid on time and not shot down in advance. "You're going to see names on Marvel book next year that haven't been on Marvel in a long time, and some that have never been at Marvel.

What makes indie comics go around? Goodwill and credit card debt.

Zac Thompson@zacthompson.bsky.social

Despite record sales across the industry the state of the creator-owned market seems dire right now. Multiple publishers are scaling back their line, a few don't seem to know what they want, others have pretty much shifted focused to entirely licensed books. It's weird!
