Great time out at the Moto GP on Phillip Island - for the last time. Was nice to meet Diogo Moreira, Johann Zarco, and Aussie Jackie Miller. Thanks to everyone who braved the rain and rocked out with us the whole show.

Great show in Townsville last night. The band were red hot…. Good to be back on stage after a bit of a break. Thanks to everyone for coming out to Sounds of Rock Music Festival. 📸: Leeroy Todd

Hope you’ve all had a great start to the week after the long weekend. Here’s one of our favourite songs that we posted back when we first stated with the Jane Barnes Band. Have You Ever Seen The Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Good luck to the Knights and the Roosters in tonight’s NRL Grand Final - one of the great battles of Australian sport. Go hard.

The weather has been perfect for dinners on the verandah. Rain coming tomorrow and we need it. This is our view tonight, and enjoyed a roast rack of lamb. Congratulations to the Brisbane Lions. It looked like the Dockers had it.. what an incredible Grand final, a tough contest to the end.

It’s been a tough week, and I’m thankful to be back home by the river. The garden is spectacular, particularly the row of crab apple blossom. Enjoy your weekend.

Dylan has turned 12, and there’ll be parties all week. He already had one cake yesterday.. today’s is the second, with his cousin Rosie. Another big one on the weekend. We have plenty to celebrate. Do you think we spoil him?? … Absolutely.

John Farnham and I first sang When Something Is Wrong With My Baby together back in 1991. It was such a pleasure to perform it again on Sunday night, this time alongside my daughter Mahalia Barnes and Diesel Music, celebrating my good friend John and supporting a great cause.

So proud of Ruby Rodgers having fun and being part of such a huge night celebrating John Farnham, in support of Head and Neck Cancer Australia.

James and James. Young James Farnham doing a fantastic job putting together Sundays concert for his dad. I’m thrilled to be a part of #thesongsofjohnfarnham

Our Ruby turns 17 tomorrow but we’ve started celebrating tonight. We’re in Melbourne for the ‘Songs of John Farnham’ concert this weekend. It’s an honour for us all to be a part of it. Happy birthday week Ruby.

Hope you’ve all had a good start to the week. Nice to be home with my girl.. thought we’d share this song we did together a few years back.

The blossoms are powering, and it looks like we’ll have plenty of plums, peaches, and pears this year. The cumquats are ready to pick, so Jane will be busy making jam.

Elly-May has had a tough year with chronic pain. She’s turned a big corner and it’s great to have her back in the pool with us. We had to swim extra laps today because of Jane’s Southern fried chicken.

We had the pleasure of meeting Dolly Parton in Sydney after her show. She was a pure spirit, ground breaking for female artists, with the self belief of her talent and expression. Much respect and gratitude for Dolly’s philanthropic work and commitment to childhood literacy. A huge loss to us all.

One of the best things about being home is Jane’s cake. Today’s is upside down pear and raspberry cake with custard. No place like home

What a great weekend on Hayman Island. Thanks for looking after us Music In Paradise. Always magic to sing songs I love, lucky to be doing it all with my family and an audience having fun. They picked our bags up at 8am - 12 hours later and we’re home. What a big and beautiful country we live in.

On our way to Hayman Island to play with the Jane Barnes Band at Stranded in the Whitsundays. Looking forward to some music, and sunshine.

Did somebody say roast dinner? My job… crunchy potatoes and gravy. In my top three winter meal choices, especially on a freezing windy day.

This is the kind of stuff Sam Neill would be subjected to on his visits to our place. Elly-May and the kids made this film one Christmas. Such a good sport our Sam, I miss him.

Good to get up to sing for a special birthday. Looking forward to getting up with the Jane Barnes Band next weekend on Hayman Island.

We have to make, and take, the time to spend with special friends, old and new. What a fine table to start my weekend. Have a great one.

Dolly came along to school pick up today. It actually feels like Perisher Valley car park. I can’t believe that I’m freezing in a wooly jumper and Dylan’s running around in just a shirt.

What’s for dinner? A veggie feast I’d say. We’ll certainly be sharing this haul. Everything from the garden tastes out of this world. Nothing better than fresh, organic and homegrown. Have a great week.

A very happy Scotsman here. Corned beef with mustard and white sauce is one of my favourite meals. Growing up we didn’t have much, but we had boiled cabbage and it was a fight to see who got to drink the water it was boiled in. I still love it, it’s still a treat.

Although it’s been freezing, the days have been sunny. I guess with that comes spectacular bunches of flowers. I wonder who arranged them? Hope this brightens up someone’s day.

We have a big family, and Sundays are when we can all get together. Sometimes special friends are in town, and we’re lucky to enjoy their company. Hold the ones you love close to you. Tex and Kristyna, we love you guys.

Getting motivated to jump in the pool on a cold and frosty morning is a hell of a lot harder than on a Thai beach holidays… but totally worth it.
