I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Since The Savage Sword of Conan #8 is fast approaching, I have decided to show my complete spread from the later #11 story to hopefully get you in the mood! I've produced a color version of this which will be available at cons as a print too. 🙂

Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted… And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right. George Orwell, 1984

This is blood-boiling. Charles Rogers was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam after being wounded three times leading the defense of a position. Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

"Eerie Statue", painted all the way back in 2015 for the #Hearthstone League of Explorers expansion. I was really happy with the sense of weight and striding forward in this one.

Who is guarding and maintaining our nuclear arsenal and keeping it from disaster? A civil servant. Who is testing and regulating our water supply, making sure it's safe? A civil servant. Who has our back when our boss violates workplace safety rules? A civil servant.

Who is tracking the trajectory of the next hurricaine? A civil servant. Who is gathering evidence to prosecute a chemical spill? A civil servant. Who is caring for an elderly veteran? A civil servant. Who is bringing broadband to underserved communities? A civil servant.

I think there needs to be a full campaign to elevate and celebrate public service and the work that people do on our behalf for the public good. We need to know what Musk's cuts will cost us, and the best way to do that is through story. Public service is beautiful! Let's talk about it!

This is a great idea. We should hear from everyone who has been affected by these layoffs and funding cuts. Community health nurses, forest rangers, cancer researchers, fish and wildlife workers, meteorologists, forensic accountants, VA docs, everyone. Make first person videos! Show us your work!

Here's another old #Hearthstone painting, Aberrant Berserker (the working title was Corrupted Berserker). This is probably one of the most dynamic poses I've ever painted and I was delighted when this ended up as a massive, mural-sized ad on a wall in Australia!

Jim Acosta announces on air that he's leaving CNN and says, "it is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant ... don't give in to the lies."

This is a great thread with an important message. I encourage you to read it.

A “hoax.” I have experienced a curious mix of feelings while having a significant portion of my life’s work in books and the art of my friends distorted and vandalized by post-literate fascists for the last few years. The feelings right now are uniquely awful. www.ed.gov/about/news/p...

Here's another early #Hearthstone (Cobalt Guardian) that remains a personal favorite. I love drawing robots so when presented the opportunity to design and illustrate this one, I was thrilled!

I seem to do a lot of those lately. This seems appropriate. Based on my cat Spike, he never outwardly seemed to crave world dominance as far as I know though.🙀

Here's an old #Hearthstone painting of an enchanted broom. I love creating anthropomorphic characters. Please share your art of non-human characters and creatures!

It doesn’t take a genius to see how much revenue artists and authors bring into a country, and yet here we are with a supposedly progressive government telling creatives they should let AI steal all their work 🥲

Here's another early #Hearthstone painting, Son of the Flame, painted back in 2014 or 2015. I really had fun with all the fire and lava in this one. Plus, I always enjoy working with analogous color schemes!

Prince Valiant by Hal Foster It's hard to get past the brilliance of Foster's art. I mean, really, NOTHING comes close to it on a level of sheer draughtsmanship. But once you get past it, there's subtle humor, drama, and even an undercurrent of soap opera. Masterful comics.
