Asked an AI for jam band recs. Got four great albums to find, but it may have dreamed one up. Most Deadhead thing a computer has ever done. jimschweizer.substack.com/p/book-a-dat...
We lost an ancient oak recently, the ghost of its stump rings date to the first electric streetlights. A good metaphor for 2026. What AI is doing to daily life in Chicagoland, the K-economy, analog sovereignty, and a civic question our city keeps avoiding. open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
I wonder what will happen when I combine this desktop (that reflects my brain) with a vibe coding environment. Yeah, you know I am going to do this 😆! www.makeuseof.com/tried-hyprla...
Monday morning. World's a lot to think about right now. Vibe coding is real. The continuity problem it exposes is realer. If you need 5 minutes on something you can actually do something about, read: Everyone Can Vibe an App Now open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
"By the end of 2027, it threatened every business model predicated on intermediation. Swaths of companies built on monetizing friction for humans disintegrated." www.citriniresearch.com/p/2028gic
Remember Google Glass or Clawdbot? Yeah, me too. Sometimes the gamechanger... doesn't change the game. Vibe coding is here to stay. BUT there's a catch nobody's talking about at the demo.👇 Everyone Can Vibe an App Now open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...

Open Source, runs locally, autonomous and protects your AI data sovereignty - what's not to like about a clone of Claude Code? I'm going to find out today! block.github.io/goose/
In case the long weekend buried this: "Vibe coding" went from meme to mainstream in under 12 months. If you're still wondering whether AI is "real," you're already behind. Catch up below. #VibeCoding #AI #FutureOfWork Vibe Coding in Aurora, IL? open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
I wrote about that "Internet moment" I mentioned yesterday. What happens when AI stops being a tool and starts being a collaborator? It's happening now - in Aurora, IL of all places. #VibeCoding #ClaudeCode #BuildInPublic Vibe Coding in Aurora, IL? open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
LLMs? Yesterday's news. LRMs? Here now. LAMs? Coming fast. The question isn't keeping up. It's building something that survives the parade. Building an AI Partnership open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
Most Chicagoland natives don't know: Aurora's founder arrived in 1834 to find a thriving Potawatomi village. The chief's lodge was engineered so well, a professional millwright marveled at it. (Multiple AIs were used in writing this fiction.) Fish for Bread open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...

Multi-Platform Reality Real talk: I use multiple AIs for different things. This week Google's ahead, so I'm exploring their ecosystem more deeply. Which AIs are in your toolkit? Why? AI Leaderboard open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
Week 3: The question that's reshaping how we think about AI value: "Which AI is smartest?" vs "Which combination creates the intelligence my work actually needs?" One keeps you on the leaderboard treadmill. The other puts you ahead of it. The Intelligence Between open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
Tomorrow, Week 3 of our relational AI series: jimschweizer.substack.com
Here's a quick recap of our AI collaboration series: Week 1: Your AI is making you faster at working wrong Week 2: The problem isn't capability - it's memory. (link below) Current AI remembers what you said but forgets why it mattered The Completeness Principle open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
This Thanksgiving, be grateful your family remembers why things matter, not just what was said. Your AI? Not so much. Week 2 of our relational AI discussion explores why dimensional memory beats data retrieval every time. The Completeness Principle open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
Are your AIs making you incredibly efficient at the wrong things? Here's why companies with massive AI innovation plans aren't seeing their bottom lines improve - and what you can do about it in your planning. Your AI is Making You Faster open.substack.com/pub/jimschwe...
The people who need to read this don't yet know they're in this field. They are in your kitchen, your friend's house and on every corner of every block. Relational AI is already here, people are already doing it, but you haven't really thought about it, yet. jimschweizer.substack.com/p/the-archit...
Crypto loses billions to fraud. Aurora, IL wastes IT money on Vegas junkets. Bob's not anti-technology or anti-government, he's just pro-accountability. Neither has earned his trust. Yet. jimschweizer.substack.com/p/bobs-thoug...

Here's a photo of my friend and colleague, Jorge Bautista, getting shot in the face with a flashbang grenade. The ICE Agent is so afraid of Jorge (who was posing no threat) that he has wet himself. Please share this photo. Everyone needs to know what cowards ICE agents are.

Our latest Substack explores what happens when your AI knows you better than your therapist, why empathy atrophy is now a technical term, and whether we're building humanity's greatest productivity unlock or most sophisticated self-distraction mechanism. jimschweizer.substack.com/p/the-relati...
Grateful for the response to this piece about a series of unfortunate IT expenditures. Sometimes the best way to document institutional dysfunction is to let the absurdity speak for itself. jimschweizer.substack.com/p/auroras-re...

The right plays the game so much more effectively than our side does. We have to stop letting them do this shit.
Matthew Dowd was fired from MSNBC for saying Charlie Kirk was "divisive". Brian Kilmeade called for the execution of unhoused people with mental illness through involuntary lethal injection. And kept his job
