Very grateful to be invited to present at this @togaanz.bsky.social webinar! Will highlight some of the exciting translational research we've been doing in @sutherlandlab.bsky.social at @wehi-research.bsky.social

Surprisingly, we observed tarlatamab-independent killing of SCLC by γδ T, but not CD8 T cells. An effect further enhanced by treatment with FDA-approved zoledronate. 🧵6/8

Using both autologous and allogenic patient-derived co-cultures, we validated these findings and describe clinically actionable strategies to harness γδ T cells for SCLC therapy. 🧵7/8

We extended this observation through analysis of IMpower133. Uncovered association between γδ T cell gene signatures and improved outcomes + ICB. Patients that had high γδ T gene signatures were also found in SCLC-A/N/P subtypes. 🧵4/8

Given clinical efficacy of tarlatamab, we explored whether γδ T cells could be effectively targeted to SCLC using tarlatamab. Indeed, we found that γδ T cells are as effective as CD8 T cells at tarlatamab-redirected killing of SCLC. 🧵5/8

Using single cell approaches, we show that γδ T cells are present in the SCLC tumor microenvironment and are poised to exert anti-tumor activity. γδ T cells show high cytotoxic signature compared to co-located NK and CD8 T cells. 🧵2/8

Identified long-survivor SCLC patient - unusually high levels of γδ T cells at the primary tumor site and in circulation. Tumor cells are MHC-I low, but the patient has been on ICB maintenance therapy - γδ T cells may play role in anti-tumor immunity. 🧵3/8

You are up to date.
