It’s a bold strategy to put something that people seem to universally hate in rural red districts all across the country Let’s see how that plays out for them, Cotton!

Big Tech is building big in rural America, where pastures, rivers and fields have become the newest frontier in the AI race. More than 1,300 data centers operate across the U.S., Cleanview data shows. An NBC News analysis finds over 100 are rural, with 92 more under construction.

The collapse of academic history is a part of this trend - if you dig into the original report, "History & Related Fields dropped from a peak of 7,496 [dissertations per year] in 2015 to 3,583 by 2025, a contraction of 52% in a single decade." Which of course mirrors the trend in academic jobs.

Humanities dissertations have fallen by 49 percent since 2015, compared with a drop of 4.5 percent in the social sciences, according to a new analysis of nearly 445,000 dissertations in these two fields over 65 years. Explore the data: https://chroni.cl/4yxUZ4S

I can attest this to be accurate, at least based on the last few flights I’ve been on

U.S. airlines are increasingly willing to fly with empty seats rather than slash fares, betting that disciplined pricing and flight schedules will help protect profits at a time of soaring fuel costs.

A federal judge in Florida orders President Trump to sit for a deposition in his defamation lawsuit against the BBC by Dec. 11, or face dismissal of his $10 billion action.

I have been told by some who know that the savvy response is “Biden was sworn in as the 46th president”

Civilians applying for jobs in the Pentagon are also being vetted this way, but worse: asked if Trump won the 2020 election.

“If our costs increase, so will yours. If our costs decrease, we pocket the difference” 😡 😡 😡

Happy that people are coming around to realization (not the only place I've seen this idea today) we didn't need Epic Fury or Ukraine to teach us this lesson.
