I'm mad I'm a bit behind on drawing because something is wrong with my eyes, but at the doctor now. Trying my damndest though.

I feel bad I haven't really shared comic stuff yet. I don't know why I just go into my cave and create and don't share until I'm ready. 🙃 I'm almost at the point where I'll have more detailed panels so I can share with the backers.

During the next book or whatever I'm going to try to figure out how to get an assistant to help me parse the posting and social media part. I also hope to be able to move where else in 2027 that will be a more positive and comforting place to be so I have more mental energy.

In my lifetime humpback whales were almost completely gone from the Puget Sound to being a so common that there were hundreds gathered in the straight a month ago. The ban on whaling 15 years before I was born helped so many species rebound. It honestly gave me faith in humanity this year.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Nothing Is perfect and it's still a fight, but there are some huge wins. There are so many more things in the world that have gotten better in my life, but the research and conservation of cetaceans has made me light up this year.

I hope that my Starwish Message and brush beaver item gift doesn't get reported on Infinity Nikki. If u know u know lmao

I’m gonna scream. Not only does my appointment next week NOT help with housing, it ALSO doesn’t declare me disabled, which means ANOTHER step in the process. I’ll be homeless in less than a month, and I’ll die from my heart condition. Please consider donating. I need $2k. gofund.me/a192a7989

Chibi Kaylee sticker. 💖 The $125+ Kickstarter folk will get one for free, and the rest will be for sale.

A positive thing in local news (yeah, my uncle's incident was in the news), a new orca family member of our endangered ecotype. I hope the best for little J65. His mama Tahlequah is a sensitive soul, their type needs new members, so be a strong one, little buddy!

Meet J65! 😍 What an unexpected joy it was to see this little head pop up next to mom J35 Tahlequah yesterday off the rocks at Lime Kiln. The Center for Whale Research was on scene to confirm the calf and its mother. They also determined the baby to be a male! #orcas #whalesky #salishsea #wssjis

My uncle was killed by a train today and I feel like I need to find the person that tried to save him to thank him and see if he's ok. Even though I have been estranged from that side of my family I'm in shock and sad.

Thank you to those who left comments. I'm still just horrified. Nobody deserves to go out that way. He was a beloved member of his community and had a ton of friends. I was happy to know he had so many friends. His disability caused a language barrier of sorts, but he made making friends look easy.

I got to the "done enough" part of editing, inking, and flatting the comic so I went to detailing. There is one page in this comic that I'll be so happy when I never have the temptation to touch it again. Ha ha

Did some belated birthday things. Kinokuniya didn't have the planner pencil board I wanted, so I got other things I liked to pay for parking. I got the strawberry cake I was talking to friends about and jasmine boba tea... and fancy dolphin stickers like a tourist.

I've felt a bit odd about my sketches this month and how they got moody/serious (some I only posted to discord) and thought it was something wrong with me. But then I realized that it's actually more true to my stories and who I am. I love comedy, I love romance, but deep down I'm very serious.

I don't think I showed off my cute planner yet. I was hesitant to get a Hobonichi, but I knew that if I blew money on a fancy planner that I'd actually use it. Right now I have an insert for September to November. I'm going to cover the inside with stickers. Right now it's just a fancy dolphin. Lol

I worked for one training shift at GameStop in 2003, then I got SARS or something. I told them that, but thought that I just didn't show back up even though I kept them in the loop. 😂

This post is unavailable.

I talk about wanting to live in the city, but it was pretty cool coming home last night to seeing the Milky Way and just hearing forest sounds.

I went on a spontaneous adventure this evening to go whale watching. Even though I was too late to go see the orca spotted near Shelton I had a lovely drive. I'm glad I could get my car fixed enough to explore again. I almost wanted to drive to the ocean, but that would have been silly.

I didn't feel like drawing romance, but I did draw happy fluff of a different sort. Gavin with his future spawn. It gave me the serotonin I needed. (And because I know someone will ask, the kid will eventually be able to shapeshift, but not until he's a little older.)

At first I was thinking about how people were looking forward to romance art, but then I remembered it was my birthday and I was drawing for me.

I thought I wanted to draw mushy romance art today, but then it didn't give me dopamine, so I went back to working.

My birthday wish is for my book to spontaneously be finished and for some handsome man to take me out for dinner. But I'll settle for working all day.

This is something I wish I could have seen! For as much as I talk about orcas, humpback whales make me super happy. They act so cute and they can be so kind.

During the first weekend of October we encountered a "herd" of humpbacks numbering in the hundreds. It's impossible to capture such a sight in photos, videos, or words for that matter! But Jason made a valiant attempt in this beautiful video compilation from our treks west. #whalesky #salishsea

I got new tires for my car today and my cc is now looking mad, but I knew I shouldn't go another winter without new ones. I've actually felt a lot calmer lately now that I could fix a few things on my car.

I've been mentally exhausted, but I need to get back to sketching stuff (that isn't my comic ha ha). I'll at least draw something on Wednesday since that's my birthday and I usually just draw Gavin (with or without Amira). Though Laz and Jasmine sounds fun, too.
