Little known fact. In 4th grade, when we were asked what we wanted to be when we grew up, I wrote that I wanted to be the junior Senator from the State of Missouri. (I knew that Stuart Symington would always be the senior Senator.)

I still remember the first time I voted, in 1976. I was so excited to take part in the Great Experiment, and I still am. Please vote.

I am off the road for about a week, and I am using the time to practice, write, and do some booking. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but in my family, we are aware of it all of the time. So, to all of my sisters here... Please continue to do those self-exams, and get a mammogram, especially if you are overdue for one. I want you around for a long, long time.

Kansas weather is Kansas weather... We still had a great time at the Walnut Valley Festival.

April Verch and I were two songs into our set tonight at the Walnut Valley Festival, when we had to stop because of some severe weather rolling in. The organizers are working hard to keep everyone safe. What a great time we have had, and hope to come back!
