Two very important graphs.
Net migration reached record levels in 2023 - and has since halved.
The vast majority of arrivals comprises students and workers.
Arrivals in small boats and asylum seekers - less than 5%.

Was Thatcher Mentally Ill While in Office?
Thatcher showed no empathy, no remorse, and no concern for the lives she destroyed. She dismantled communities, sold off public assets, and mocked the poor.
Was she mentally unwell, or simply devoid of humanity?
What do you think?
A New Politics for Britain
Expecting an elected chamber to end landlordism when 76 MPs are landlords is for the birds; you cannot end poaching when the lawmakers are poachers.

I’ve compiled a list of the most incompetent ministers in the last 50 years. Can you think of other worthy contenders:
1. Chris Grayling
2. Matt Hancock
3. Andrew Lansley
4. Liz Truss
5. (Joint) Stephen Byers & Gavin Williamson
Honourable Mention: Vince Cable

Here, I will write in my own voice about the urgent need for a new kind of politics, one that can begin to repair Broken Britain.
I have never been more ashamed as I am today with my so-called @uklabour.bsky.social government. Sickened to my core that 336 MPs could vote to take £3,000 a year from the poorest and most vulnerable in society.
Confirmed @UKLabour have dropped the 4-point rule to the #CullTheDisabledBill. This is yet another clusterfuck by @Keir_Starmer. This couldn't have been handled any worse. I think Starmer will face a leadership challenge within the next 12 months.
Today on @BBCRadio4’s #PM programme, the @BBC delivered 12 minutes of the most accurate reporting it’s aired in decades. The truth about Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank must be exposed. This is genocide — and it must be named.
Been a bit wiped out medically these past few weeks — I won’t bore you with the details, but it finally feels like things are turning a corner. Signs of improvement at last. I still need the brilliant care of our fantastic #NHS, but with their help, I’m feeling much better.
Is anyone else wondering where the social campaign group of Labour MPs has gone?
Guys at this point if you’re not speaking up, you’re just protecting your own position. Disappointing.
My posts on 20th December when Röhl was publicly stating #SWFC needed to step up in January.
Like it or not, this is what ambition looks like. It has a somewhat aggressive personality. When opportunity knocks, you can welcome it in, or you can criticise it in a fans' forum.
#SWFC
Why he might go… and why he just might stay.
Danny Röhl does not act like you (or me). He is beyond ambitious, works incredibly hard, expects the best, and sees no limits. He is totally confident in his abilities. #SWFC#WAWAW
BREAKING: More than 40 Labour MPs have warned the prime minister that planned disability cuts are “impossible to support” and have called for a pause and change in direction
www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
I am really saddened by the level of vitriol and hatred being directed toward the trans community.
We are losing our common humanity. How hard is it to treat people with kindness and respect?
Trans people are human beings — and they deserve to live in dignity like anyone else.
“We urge all supporters to turn their backs on the match for one minute during the 10th minute of this weekend's game against Oxford United and remain silent. This symbolic gesture will show our disdain for the owner's disrespect towards our players, staff, and fans.”

Disability Rights UK's Statement on the government’s planned benefits cuts
“The Government is demonising and punishing Disabled people for the economic failures of successive governments. Why isn't it looking to the rich to plug its funding gap?”
Health Secretary Wes Streeting has received £311,400 from private healthcare interests since entering Parliament.
Could that be reason he's such a fan of private involvement in our health service?
The Green Party is clear - private profit motive should be nowhere near the NHS.
#WorldBookDay
Reading enhances literacy skills beyond getting lost in the stories. With only 34.6% of children enjoying reading in their free time we really need to change this.
This proves why World Book Day is so important! Have a great day!
Third time lucky I hope in my slipper quest. Appears to be impossible to buy slippers on @Amazon having sent two pairs back I'm trying a size 14 tomorrow.... I usually take a size 9
For Keir Starmer to take the Elon Musk route of slashing foreign aid when there are far fairer and better ways to raise the money is a worrying Trumpification of British politics. There is a better way.
What the government can’t afford:
❌Lifting children out of poverty
❌Disability benefits
❌Compensation for WASPI women
❌Winter fuel allowance
What the government can afford: an extra £13.4 billion on the military.
Never any money for the poor. Always enough money for war.
Another inflation busting energy price rise. The government must now act. I’ve tabled a Parliamentary motion calling on Ofgem to cut the £4bn excess profits of the energy network owners instead of passing on price rises to consumers - as highlighted by @citizensadvice.bsky.social
The government has announced it will pay for more weapons and bombs by cutting support for the world's poorest people.
A deplorable decision that will only create a more unstable and unequal world.
What is the government doing to bring about peace?
