That’s also my name on Twitter. I have a blog about the Cardinals (stlbullpen.com) and thoughts about a bunch of other things.

I did my first comedy open mic a little under four months ago, really started ramping up how many I attend like a month and a half into it, and last night I attended my 14th different one. Seems fairly impossible but I’ve checked the number twice.

Don’t let the fact that the Chiefs employ two asshole kickers distract you from the fact that their punter was the defendant in a pretty gruesome civil case himself

oh got it yeah no i was worried it might be something weird

Trump: The fake news only covered the ass part. They said 'what the hell was Trump doing talking about a man's anatomy? He was talking about his ass.' I studied his ass to see where the power came from

Looksmaxxing influencers: You need to take this hammer and beat the absolute fucking hell out of your jaw for five hours per night if you want to ever get laid ever Every other woman I’ve talked to over the last two weeks: Nathan Fielder should be named People’s Sexiest Man Alive

JD Vance is a lot of negative things but he’s not an unintelligent guy. But man, his aw schucks salt of the earth cosplay is BRUTAL

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance says of the Middle East that it's "a region of the world made up of countries whose name I couldn't even pronounce"

I have seen a lot of people diminishing the Brewers. Dodgers fans mostly but also a share of NL Central fans whining about how they just get super lucky. These takes are of course objectively for babies.

Michael Baumann@baumann.bsky.social

I've been broken by spending my entire adult life online, so I'm reflexively preparing to fight about Where the Brewers Stack Up All Time. All I'll say is they're going to be the rare champion with no real debate over who the best team was that year, and no serious what-ifs about their title run

Just a reminder that this grifting fuckhead sold himself to both the Democratic and Republican tickets in 2024 and went with the one who offered him a job. He is such a repellent loser that it is somehow shocking that Donald Trump gave him a job.

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

Josh Hawley’s favorite player on the team with fuckin Patrick Mahomes being the kicker was always loser shit even when said kicker was good and now it’s just deeply cathartic

Harrison Butker (Kansas City) ranks dead last in field goal pts over expected at -7.69, behind Trey Smack -7.28 (Green Bay) & Harrison Mevis -6.87 (Free Agent) Leaders: Will Reichard +9.47 (Minnesota), Chase McLaughlin +8.78 (Tampa Bay) & Ka'imi Fairbairn +8.56 (Houston)

I made similar comments on Friday right after I saw it, but I still can’t believe that You Can See Everything matched the hype. I was so ready to be like “Yeah it’s a solid doc but calm the hell down” but nope it really is that fucking movie

This seems like terrible strategy. AES may win, he may not, but I’m pretty sure the “look at this guy, he’s obviously literally a terrorist” vote has already decided

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

This is just pure racism. Republicans objectively are campaigning on little more than bigotry.

As somebody with a long and frankly annoying history of calling out affluent liberals for sneering at chain restaurants, I believe it is problematic to treat them as a monolith. Olive Garden or Applebee’s has bland decor. Cheesecake Factory looks like a big dumb castle. These are not the same.

1. 99.9% seems…high 2. Obama’s joke isn’t about Cheesecake Factory being poor people food. It’s about the decor being garish, which guess what it fucking is. 3. This is the first time in history it has been called The Factory but also this would be a hilarious rebrand

Marisa Kabas@marisakabas.bsky.social

THE FACTORY

It’s objectively disgusting that a quarterback wears #47, but, uh, has anyone asked why he chose that particular number when he got to BYU in 2025?

This is a very funny way to remind everyone how juiceless Trump is. Republicans have been doing the Barack HUSSEIN Obama thing for fully a generation now; he proceeded to win twice and is America’s most popular politician. A truly loser gambit.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

it hits different when El-Sayed drops a "Barack HUSSEIN Obama" 😆

Amy Acton’s mom is the first woman Trump has ever believed

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "This is a disgrace. The mother said that Amy Acton is a liar and she's no good. And you know what? I don't think you can get a better reference than that."

Tampa Bay can win this in five now for all I care, but them winning that game after the first overturned neighborhood play in the history of the sport would’ve been ultraviolence

Tampa Bay has won titles (in multiple sports) post-COVID. Milwaukee had the Bucks title. Honestly just a damn shame a truly tortured sports city like St. Louis couldn’t break through.

Okay I’ve now seen You Can See Everything and holy fuck

John Fleming@johnjf125.bsky.social

I haven’t seen either so this is purely vibes-based: it’s funny seeing You Can See Everything, a form-breaking indie, become a genuine financial success just weeks after everyone yelled at strangers about how Important it was to see Digger and its 53% RT score

The Thunder are up through three quarters against a (conservatively) top ten NBA team and SGA has been mostly a disaster. They’re really good.

"Tavern style" just means "pizza in a bar." Bars all over the country have this. That's like saying "Chicago has something special called draft beer."

Noahconstrictor@noahconstrictor.bsky.social

For all the talk about deep-dish, Chicago actually loves their tavern style, and it's usually the choice for most people in the area when they get their pizza. The deep-dish is a treat, something to do every once in a while.

It would be easy to skip my sample ballot and commit everything to memory this go around but damn it if I don’t love the satisfaction of practicing voting against Ann Wagner
