This thing seems to be out in the open now, so even though publicationโ€™s eight months away, letโ€™s drum up some early interest, shall we? Wayfarers is out next April. Hereโ€™s the cover.

England's Test opening bowlers are Jofra Archer and Ollie Robinson. Henry Crocombe was in the last squad. Sarah Taylor, Carl Hopkinson among the coaches. James Coles in the ODI squad. Mike Yardy coaches the U19s. Tom Haines captains the Lions. And the ECB still chooses to dismantle Sussex. #ENGvPAK

Another summer, another sporting (mis)adventure: Next month I'll be competing in a Kyrgyz belt wrestling ('Alysh') tournament at the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan. I have never done anything even remotely like this before. ๐Ÿ“š Not unrelatedly, I will hopefully have another book out next year!

You call it the transfer window. I call it "very rich people making terrible house moves": Goodbye Athens, Paris, northern Spain and Bologna; hello Hull, the middle of Saudi Arabia, Moscow and Watford!

Getting there.

Let's see what Fifa come back with now but this is a stunning move from Uefa. Plenty of concerns that smaller countries would choose Infantino's $$ but he has taken a massive blow here. Feeling this is only the start of the story: www.theguardian.com/football/202...

It's after 7pm in New York. Donald Trump is still holding the World Cup trophy, rambling. For 38 minutes he has insulted every Spanish person, most of Argentina, telenovelas, Iran, and Shakira. Rodri stands next to him, still empty-handed, awkward in a MAGA cap, as the last fans leave the stadium.

I assume I'm already in the middle class hall of fame, but just to make sure, today I said quite loudly to my 5 y/o, in the middle of Norwich's M&S: "I thought the idea was you didn't want sea bass this evening?"

I'm hearing that the hospital in Mexico City has also made some calls to Gianni Infantino, in a bid to overturn Jordan Henderson's broken wrist. "We confirm this is true", a FIFA source has commented. "But our decision to repair the fractured bones of certain players has nothing to do with this."

Archer, Salt, Robinson, Coles, Garton, Mills (England players); Crocombe, Haines, Carson (England Lions); Ibrahim (England U19s); Hopkinson, Sarah Taylor, Mark Robinson, Yardy (England coaches); Wright (England selector). Thank you, ECB. And you're welcome. #GOSBTS

And the weather was so hot that we almost witnessed the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian umpire.
