Was delighted to see this, because it shows how creating a prize like this can provide a welcome boost in all sorts of places. www.sps.ed.ac.uk/news-events/... Good for pol-theory, good for particular institutions & of course good for particular individuals, inc. even the great Baroness herself...

Although it's nice to post about exciting political theory/philosophy news, I really did need a walk in the countryside yesterday away from it all. These individuals definitely gave me a smile. Posting in the hope they also give you one.

7 days now until I get 2 announce the winner & runner-up of this year's Onora O'Neill Political Theory prize at our political theory plenary @ecpr.bsky.social in Krakow. Had the pleasure of telling Onora herself yesterday & happy 2 say that she is very happy indeed. But who do you think it will be?

Does anyone else keep misspelling the word misspelled? Have to rewrite it every time I've either mispelled or mispelt it. Meanwhile, copy-editors keep restricting my use of 'whilst', and whilst/while I get the aim of making pol-theory more accessible, I'm not convinced that's where the action is...

This week's writing is going pretty much as usual. Yesterday I struggled all day with a paragraph on p.5, so in order to smash that hold-up today I decided to carefully refine the previous pages in the hope of building up momentum. Instead I have now spent 4 hours stuck on a new issue I found on p.3

Will be a veritable festival of ideas in the eternal city.
