Can't shut up about Minnesota sports, but still always Minnesota nice. P.S. I am not a crackpot.

#MNUFC training report: cold, showery, not an advertisement for the state. Wil Trapp is still in the concussion protocol but is in good spirits and was out and running. Everyone else (including Alec Smir) participated today.

hey, the Scorigami bot said the Loons' playoff odds went up

MLS Scorigami@mlsscorigami.bsky.social

📈 Updated title odds (Monte Carlo, 2,000 sims): Houston Dynamo FC — 100% playoffs, 1.75% MLS Cup Minnesota United FC — 10.2% playoffs, 0.05% MLS Cup Model is estimated, not fit to real results yet — read odds as directional.

FULL TIME: Houston 0, #MNUFC 0. I could tell you that this was a really good performance from the Loons, who dominated the game, but it really doesn't matter at this point of the season. One point isn't that much better than zero.

Minnesota will end the night either four points back of Colorado or five points behind the Galaxy, with three games to play. Not eliminated, but pretty much out of it.

Maybe 15 minutes to go here. #MNUFC has mostly controlled this game but it's still 0-0, and they can't afford another disappointing draw. Will they find a spark to keep the playoff chase alive?

Bongokuhle Hlongwane with a great run, pulls the defense to the end line, squares for a wide-open Kelvin Yeboah... and it's just behind the #MNUFC striker and the Loons can't get a shot off. Regret building for Minnesota and their inability to turn chances into goals...

HALFTIME: Houston 0, #MNUFC 0. The Loons have outshot the Dynamo 11-1 and have four big chances to 0 for Houston... but they haven't scored, which means none of that means anything. Still, though, they aren't behind yet. Major improvement!

Tori Penso tosses Ben Olsen for his inability to keep his thoughts to himself. If she'd done the same for Houston's players the Dynamo would be down to six on the field #MNUFC

If Lawrence Ennali played in the NBA he would have gotten back-to-back technical fouls for throwing a tantrum after getting a yellow card #MNUFC

I remember a million years ago when they told us that VAR was just going to be for clear mistakes and they weren't going to re-referee the game. Anyway we're into minute four of a VAR check of something the referee had a very clear view of #MNUFC

A word to my fellow FotMob users: for whatever reason, the app lists tonight’s #MNUFC game at 8:30pm. It’s not. It’s at 7:30pm. Dylan Wolpers is up to his old tricks.

@armankafai.bsky.social the participation report remains imperfect

Update: #MNUFC mid Wil Trapp is listed as out due to concussion protocol on Friday’s unavailability report for Houston match Saturday. Context: Trapp was spotted during open portion of Friday’s training session and Cameron Knowles didn’t mention Trapp when asked about players who will be sidelined

My wife just put the Charlie Brown Halloween special on TV and I can’t tell whether the answer here is “animation” or “television” or “humanity”

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Useless #MNUFC training apparel report: step forward DJ Taylor, the only player to go sleeveless today in the blustery summer sunshine.

Fall is here, winter is coming, and today is a autumnal tradition like no other for #MNUFC: the reappearance of the looming specter of the Dome of Soccer

A reasoned take from an expert on the downfall of the Champions League group stages

Useless #MNUFC training apparel report: it’s bright, it’s sunny, it’s almost 60 degrees, winds are light. It’s glorious! A perfect day! Tomás Chancalay and Mauricio González are still wearing stocking caps.

Saw on Instagram that former #MNUFC striker Teemu Pukki has announced that he'll retire at the end of this season. He left Minnesota at the beginning of 2025, in large part to be home with family, and got to play two more years there. Huge congrats to him on an exceptional career.

Got a chuckle out of Kelvin Yeboah (age 26) calling Marcus Caldeira (just turned 22) “youngster” in the locker room after the game #MNUFC

It will change by the end of tonight, but for the moment #MNUFC is up to 10th place in the West. And if they hadn’t blown leads late against Orlando and Houston, they’d be tied on points with Colorado for 9th…

It's over! For the first time in 182 days, #MNUFC has won an MLS game at Allianz Field!

Public service announcement: no matter what the Apple TV broadcasts tell you, remember this game, and never, ever, ever bet on MLS

Every #MNUFC kid that's out there scoring goals is noticeably taller than last time, some of them have learned to walk and/or drive cars

Drake Callender with his second exceptional save of the second half, at full stretch and palming away a free kick. #MNUFC making two stoppage-time subs... Michael Boxall (okay) and Tomás Chancalay (okay?)

Unreal. St. Louis City is 21 games unbeaten and #MNUFC has come from 2-0 down to lead 3-2. Marcus Caldeira just ran the length of the field and - with Wil Trapp, of all people, providing a dummy run - found the back of the net to give the Loons the lead. They've been here before! Can they hold on?

#MNUFC leads this game in shots attempted, shots on target, expected goals, and defenders and midfielders who have launched a shot at least ten yards over the crossbar
