The benefits of showing up early for a tour

How to flirt like it’s the ‘20s… Guest star Podcast Pip and I had a bit of fun with this one 😇

Today’s warning was for lightning. Fair. When the weather can zap you to death, a warning is ok.

It’s now 2 warnings. 31°. Hot yes, but also…. August?!

Another day, another warning. I don’t think we need warnings for 32.

The Deutsche Wetterdienst have a severe weather warning every single day. Today, there is a bit of drizzle.

Weird thing is I looked for this recently and didn’t find it 😂

The square square named “square” and why the square isn’t called “square” anymore 👇

Some emails hit harder 😅 2x 250kg WWII bombs are being detonated outside Oranienburg on Wednesday 🤯

Fasho refreshment? Karl Flach tried to convince Germans Coca Cola was run by Jews in Nazi Germany. Patriotic Germans would drink his Afri Cola brand instead. …well, it didn’t work out like that for Mr Flach in the end.

Early morning heron action yesterday. Getting a jog in before the 29° hit. Glad it’s over for a couple of days!

Guten morgen 👋

On this day in 1936, German troops marched into the Rhineland. This was celebrated by Hitler in his fig-leaf parliament inside the Krolloper, in one of the few times it would meet. Here’s my video on the Krolloper for (a lot) more: youtu.be/3RI3V_kzqWY?...

Bullet hole Tuesday 💥 I mean, that’s not a thing, but I can’t always think of something to say

Filming day 👋

Look I’m as happy to catch up on curling once every 4 years as the next person, but 4 concurrent curling streams is just too much curling no offence to your national sport @downieseb.bsky.social 🥌👈

15 February 1950: the removal of the monument to Kaiser Wilhelm from in front of Berlin's Schloss (via Bundesarchiv)

I was invited on @lbc.co.uk with Matthew Wright this morning to chat about the IOC’s baffling decision to sell t-shirts commemorating the 1936 Olympics. I suggested it was weird to make, sell, buy, and wear them. Crazy, I know.

Talking Stasi with Stasi expert Stasi Steve 👇 According to one commenter, Keir Starmer's government is *exactly the same* as the Stasi. So, you know, there's that. (in case it's not abundantly clear I do not endorse that viewpoint)
