Leonard Rossiter. Born 100 years ago today. This drawing was part of the “Six Fan Art” meme from 2020. One of the many inspired requests I received was Rigsby!

I promise I won't spam the feed with my stolen art, but I wanted to share this one because I enjoyed painting it. I used black watercolors on toned paper, something I hadn't tried before. (There is a Leyendecker watercolor that made me want to try this combo of materials) "Nocturne"

My cover to Here & Now. A comic featuring true stories about dementia in Wales and Japan. My cover features Mr & Mrs Sato (whose story is detailed inside) and incorporates a painting by legendary manga artist Yoshikazu Ebisu. The book is available in English, Welsh and Japanese from re-live.org.uk

Went for a walk at dusk and saw a black chicken walking past the churchyard. Surely this is the beginning of an old European folk tale? Like a subtitled 1970s Czech animation that Channel 4 used to show in the 1980s.

Day 2!

Yes, at last the Chips Shops of the North zine is available. I'll be selling these chip shop beauties, and a ton of my comic books work, at the Lakes International Comics Festival in Kendal this weekend. See you there.

Two drawings from a few hours in Manchester yesterday. The Companio Bakery NQ and the Peace Dove statue as seen out of the window of the cafe in the People’s History Museum. Brush pen and parallel pen.

Here’s number 5 of my felt grisaille stone gods. Got a bit carried away with this guy, time consuming but thoroughly enjoyable. My poor hands need a rest for a bit though. As usual all sewn from felt (I think around 3 metres) About a metre tall. I’ll post some process pics soon.
