Well I didn’t get nearly as much reading done in October as I hoped but that’s fine. My reading shall roll on. Two books I’m excited to get to though arrived recently. I’m thinking I might still get to Your Lonely Nights are Over by Adam Sass this week. We’ll see. #BookSky

You know, the first episode was intriguing, though that's usually not the problem with these. I maybe... could do without another scene of counting. But it is good to see Lange back.

Okay giving you one more chance, AHS. Let’s see how it goes.

Dragon & Lady! Arkhan the Cruel and his Inquisitor Aksana! These are creations of Joe Manganiello’s and done with Four Horsemen studios as part of their Infinite Legions! #actionfigures #mythiclegions

RIP Walter Koenig. I always found the character of Chekov charming. Going from TNG to movies to TOS, I was shocked that Chekov wasn't in the show from the start. Then, I discovered Koenig's amazing villainous turn as Psi-Cop Bester in Babylon 5 and appreciated Koenig as a performer even more

Synapse is a new GI Joe character. I’m being pretty choosy about what I add to my collection but a cyberpunk guy with a creepy cybernetic occult hand in purple and teal? Had to get him. Didn’t wait for a sale as it seemed like people were scooping the him up quickly #gijoe #gijoeclassified

Monster 500 was a 2013 line of diecast cars that featured fun monster designs driving stylized vehicles! Thought it’d be fun to re-photo them for the season!

Apparently it now takes USPS 10 days to deliver a package that's 12 hours away. I had my company (45 minutes away) mail me a book for a book club we're doing and it took two weeks to reach me. This is what happens when you try to treat a public good like a business run by idiots.

Oh, Traitors: New Blood. I’m just not enjoying you. Allan has nothing to play off of. Two of the Traitors, at least, are BAD at this game. The Faithfuls are bumbling cyphers. Except the one guy who’s totally on top of things but too skeevy acting to be trusted! And we’re losing eye candy.

Absolutely riveting. The run time somehow flies by as you navigate the shifting sands here. I saw it with a great audience, and it's the most interactive I've seen an audience at a movie in ages. Especially for a documentary.

Happy 20th Torchwood!

I was rooting around some storage tubs and found my Torchwood figures. Thought they'd be fun to do a quick photo of. They're kind of stiff and awkward, but I appreciate having them. Still mad we didn't get Owen. He was prototyped, but sales were low so they didn't make wave 3. #Torchwood

Drinking sleepy time tea and reading my mildly erotic gay horror book that has been great! I’ve not had long bouts of reading time. My mind has been jumpy. As a queer writer of queer horror, though, I love reading a writer who is dealing with that exact moment in time (1991) in ways that… #booksky

The minds of gay men in the early 90s. Far enough into the AIDS crisis for it to loom large and have utterly changed the social fabric and the way gay men interacted with each other and their sexuality. But the characters are only in their mid-to-late 30s here. The glory days weren’t that long ago.

To have the monster of the piece show up in the hot steam of a long-closed bathhouse, presaged by a nostalgic longing for the “good old days” of the disco and drug fueled 70s is all genius. I just finished Part 1, and I’m intrigued to see where it goes!

Are bolder than one might find today, use various devices a modern reader might frown at, and at the same time genuinely chilling and fun. Also, I feel like the influence of Anne Rice is certainly haunting the piece. And it works! But, perhaps the best part so far has been an insight into…

I cannot say this clearly enough, nor with more passion: FUCK ELECTRONIC ARTS. FUCK PRIVATE EQUITY. I don't know who was left of the teams that made games I loved. Creators are hollowed out regularly in the video game industry. But it still makes me sad. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/ea-is-c...

The new Hellboy figure from @bossfightstudio.bsky.social captures Mignola’s art so beautifully in the sculpt and paint, all while being nicely articulated. I became a fan of Hellboy first through the GDT movies. The comics came later, although I’ve loved Mignola’s art since I first saw it. #hellboy

Finished Carrie. I really enjoyed so much of the series. I wasn't entirely satisfied by the finale. I liked the idea of opening Carrie's world some to the bigger Stephen King Universe, I just didn't expect it to substantially change things...

There were a lot of interesting new wrinkles gained, and some things lost. Deconstructing the prom scene some isn't a bad idea in the shadow of the movie. But it's hard to feel the finale we do get is as powerful or impactful. Still, I did enjoy it very much overall.

please stop replying to game devs saying things like "well look on the bright side those laid off devs can start their own indie studios now" because eventually one of us is going to snap and "WITH WHAT FUCKING MONEY" would be a shitty last thing to hear before you die

The great mouse rescue! Okay, we were the ones who trapped it. But it was in our house. It got free peanut butter and a hopefully long, healthy life in the country. In this clip: my very masculine mouse wrangler voice. Paul’s scream. My laugh.

The curse continues. Seriously though I was going to try again with 13 but have yet to hear one friend (or really anyone) recommend it.

After debuting an all-star thirteenth season, AMERICAN HORROR STORY has been renewed for Season 14. Get all the details here.

Love Margaret's complex portrayal in Carrie. She's the sort of fierce advocate every child would be lucky to have, except when she's a child's worst nightmare. It becomes a dramatic heightening of something that is relatable—parents can be a source of great love and great harm at the same time.
