In watching the debate between Ossoff and Collins, I can’t help but wonder why republicans look so angry and “stern”, and why they have to be so emotional? Also why do they have to say slogans instead of discussing policies?

With Google abandoning Google Earth and as such not updating it to run on the M-chips, Apple has a chance to take over the rudimentary GIS features of GE and implement those into Maps. Between Maps and QGIS, the Mac can become a great machine for GIS use.

I’m upset that England lost, just as I’m upset that France lost; but, I am looking forward to the two facing off. Two countries with more than a thousand years of rivalry taking to the pitch, even if not for the Cup, is worth viewing in my opinion. Allez les bleus ! and whatever the chant is for Eng

I like when the referees don’t whistle for every trip and fall. Keep that football rolling and stop the play when an actual injury occurs. Also, end the commercial bre… I mean “hydration breaks”. #FIFA #WorldCup2026

That Netherlands vs Morocco game was INTENSE. Unfortunately the team that I wanted to win did not, but good game overall. Congratulations Morocco! …even though I would have preferred the victor be the Netherlands. Maybe in 2030!

Apple really needs to revisit their iCloud storage options. 200gb is silly. Why not $4 for 400 or 500gb? Why does it need to go from 200gb to 2tb?? I don’t need 2tb and I’m not interested in spending $120 per year.

I am sort of looking forward to macOS 27 for the express reason of being fully built for the M-chips and not being held back by needing to support Intel Macs.

These gas prices wouldn’t matter as much if we weren’t forced to use cars for nearly all purposes. If our cities were still walkable and had their transit in place, then the cost of oil would be of less concern. Maybe we should recognise this and advocate for meaningful changes to reduce car use.

The installation process for macOS and Windows are like night and day. macOS asks basic questions: language/region? Internet? Apple account? Okay enjoy! Windows is full of upselling, so much upselling and cloud based service and 365 selling. Can’t even avoid network connection without using cmd.

If I watch something and get the feeling it is AI, no matter the subject of the video, I exit out of it. I refuse to give my attention to AI when there are real people who are putting in true effort.

The SAVE plan is gone. I’ll be moved to the costly plans. With cost of living and childcare expenses, I’m prepping myself for the inevitable come July by no longer packing lunch to take to work as it can no longer be afforded. The republicans took my lunch like the bullies that they are.

I just finished Expedition 33 and Verso’s ending is the right one, and Renoir was absolutely in the right. I feel and empathise for Maelle and the others, but Verso wanted the grief to finally be over and Renoir wanted his family back and not escaping reality.

What’s with all of these streaming services and their restructuring of plans into tiered pricing models?? They used to just one ONE plan that was all encompassing — no ads, 4K, so on. Now they’ve got ads, no ads, and no ads with 4K, locking what was standard behind a “premium” paywall. Assholes.

I don’t think that it’s right that research on Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, JSTOR, and so on require institutional credentials to access the full peer-reviewed articles. Research articles should be freely accessible. Thanks a lot, Ghislaine Maxwell’s dad, Robert Maxwell, for paywalling research.

When I went to university, I drove to campus and dealt with the hassle of parking and the annual fee. It then struck me that I lived a short bike ride away. So I started biking to campus, no longer dealt with parking, and stopped paying the fee. Bikes give the freedom that cars try to sell.

If Apple brought back the AirPort, I would swap my current Google Nest mesh routers for it in a second. I reluctantly switched from my old AirPort a few years ago and would love to have it come back. Make it happen, Apple! WiFi 7 is out, it’s time!

Drive the legally posted speed limit and follow the legally outlined traffic laws, and watch the meltdown of motorists in the rear view mirror. Evidently many motorists believe themselves to be above the law.

Gas prices going up doesn’t really affect me to much. A full tank gets me to where I need to go for about a month or longer. Hopefully all of those who opted for gas guzzling non-passenger work vehicles (SUVs) and pick-up trucks drive more conservatively, will stop accelerating fast and speeding.

“Metrosexual”, and its definition has always been so fucking ridiculous to me. Is it “feminine” for a man to care about his appearance and COOK??? It’s laughable that the default for a man is to be slob and if caring about appearance and cooking, then that man is less of one and more “feminine”.

The tale of AI apps and linked personal data. Le Chat being the most private and the others becoming progressively more intrusive. The last two saying loudly “all your data are belong to us”.

Pages needs to be more widely accepted as a format for submission. It is a very capable word processor and has been around for a long time. I’d like to no longer have to convert to PDF or DOCX when submitting assignments.

Walmart has, for the first time, hit $1T in market cap. As a celebration of that achievement, the company should provide a nice bonus of $10,000 to the associates who helped greatly in making that outcome possible. That would only make for $16B, a small price to pay for a huge sum and changes lives.

I really just do not like the window corners on macOS 26. I hope that Apple reverses course on this and I wish there were a way to revert to the previous corners.

Bluebell is too expensive to be fake vanilla ice cream. They even add colourant to it to make it look like it has egg yolk. There are better ice creams that have real, honest ingredients. Choose better.

Why is it that when a person, who works for us through the government, does something nice or helps people in his or her city, it is often viewed as a “photo op”? Could it be that the elected official is simply a good person also and wants to help in whatever capacity?

Common preservatives used to keep food safe and extend shelf life may be linked to a higher risk of several cancers and type 2 diabetes, according to two new studies from France. https://cnn.it/3YZsC0b

Liquid Glass has been available to the public for some time now and available to developers for even longer. The fact that so many developers, who continue to submit updates, have yet to update the UI to fit with iOS 26 is interesting and also disappointing.

It makes me (un)reasonably frustrated in Expedition 33 hearing the English VA for Gustave pronounce Lune’s name as « Luné ». This, of course, prompts other English speakers who don’t otherwise know to also mispronounce the word « lune ». There is not an “eh” at the end of her name. Just « Lune ».

Maybe nearly the whole internet’s infrastructure shouldn’t be in the hands of one company. When AWS is down, so too is much of the internet. Not a good idea, I don’t think.

Parents complain that their neighbourhood doesn’t have an active Halloween scene, and then they do what other parents in their neighbourhood do; take their kids to “better” places. This practice if done by enough parents removes the very children from their own neighbourhood, diluting further (1)

the possible success of Halloween in their neighbourhood. If parents and children stayed and participated in their own area, then their neighbourhood would have an active Halloween scene too that is so greatly sought after. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. Be active in your neighbourhood. (2)
