Honestly I kinda thought the whole thing was a very tongue-in-cheek “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em and make it all look as ridiculous as possible while also commenting on the current intersection of technology and society in a mix of wonderment and gilded dread” sort of vibe.

It's kind of maddening that William Gibson and Bruce Sterling are the two people on here who put by far the most Ai slop into my timeline.

The fact that Centipede Press got Dave McKean (fantastic artist, does all your favorite Front Line Assembly album art) to do illustrations for a new limited printing of @greatdismal.bsky.social ‘s seminal novel, Neuromancer, is a total coup! A novel that radically shaped teenage me!

And honestly that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It’s a set of the entire trilogy (each with a different, similarly invaluable artist working on it), and introductions by a who’s who of the old school cool of the now-reanimated, low-tech/high-life corpse of the cyberpunk genre.

Introduce yourself with 10 acts you've seen live: (I’m sticking to larger acts rather than the multitude of local/regional shows I’ve seen): Nine Inch Nails God Lives Underwater The Cure Sisters of Mercy Stabbing Westward The Flaming Lips Gary Numan Ministry Front 242 Skinny Puppy

And that’s where the Electribe excelled. As a sequencer it was too stuff for anything too melodic, but what I really needed was drums and maybe a bassline and little else, and it could deliver that quickly and intuitively. Plus it could be really “garage electronique” sounding. But limited range…

Plus, I’m more of a studio musician guy. 90% of the instruments I use are VST (with hardware for added spice). And I’ve never considered myself a live musician. Hardware for me is used more to fuck around and knock ideas loose. And for that, the 707 might be more power/options than I need.

And also, I’ve never been a huge fan of the way the ZenCore engine sounds. Something about it is just a bit flat and lifeless to me. The real nail in the coffin is that every time I use it, I just think about how much I’d rather be using my old Korg Electribe MX…jank (a plenty) and all.

You know, I’ve had this MC-707 for a few years now, and I just don’t think it’s the right fit. It’s a really REALLY nice machine with a lot of possibilities…that are often locked behind Roland’s love of menu diving, and many of which are great for some, but not really what I use hardware for.

Started some work on a new song from something of a vs project this week. More guitar based rock with me adding synth and vox and some string arrangements. With any luck we’ll have an LP by the end of the year. Still haven’t officially named the project.

I was recently in the Bahamas and wanted to buy myself a touristy keepsake and then I saw “242” and knew I had found the perfect souvenir. No idea what “242” means to the Bahamas, but I guess it’s not the best place to hide if someone is trying to “catch the man”

welcome to the goth scene, we have: -girl you like but are also afraid of -super intimidating guy who turns out to be v chill -the most intense person you've ever met and is it just a bit I hope it's a bit? -trans friend for whom you would die and vice versa after you've known them barely 5 minutes

you shouldn’t learn about bands from shady TikTok manipulation, you should learn about bands by hanging out with a girl you like but are also extremely afraid of

DAMN! clipping. last night was next level. This was the first song after the intro and the crowd never slowed down a bit (except for the middle when the amazing Counterfeit Madison joined and we were all mesmerized in a near religious experience that left our brains shot out the back of our heads)

Can't wait for this to be out in the wild. Hunting from places unseen.

I was today years old when I learned that the song Live is Life wasn’t originally by Laibach. AND that it is LIVE is Life not Life is Life. If it matters, I discovered this because the original Opus version of the song was (somewhat paradoxically) playing at a Mexican restaurant.

Reading Thompson’s Fear and Loathing On The Campaign Trail may not be the fun and terrifying ride that Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas may have been, but his ability to luridly put you in a time and place both familiar and alien cannot be overstated.

He could put your so precisely in his point of view. That of an angry and chaotic man who was also tuned into a station just barely offset to the one we are all listening to, revealing all the underpinnings we were never meant to see.

This remix was an absolute pleasure to make, using a methodology I had never tried before, I was able to go in some directions wouldn’t have thought to go. Also I got to finally use a good ‘ole TB-303 bassline, which I have been itching to do for awhile but never quite found an opportunity to.

Today’s track focus is on @joshkillcrop.bsky.social “Wine-Dark” mix of “Stars Rain”! Last summer he asked me to remix his “Plastic Embrace” track, which is easily the best remix I have ever done & I was itching to have him return the favor, which he did BEAUTIFULLY! Link below!

Check this shit out! A bunch of talented artist and I created a bunch of remixes of the Bad Acid Cult album The Journey Outward.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of "The Journey Outward" I decided to ask some of my friends to remix materials from that era, and on Wednesday, June 4th, on the date of the anniversary, Bad Acid Cult invites you to take "The Sojourn Inward"!
