I can take a couple of days off staycation style in the next month and I gotta plan this ahead so I get some local activities done.

Watched the Bourne Identity again tonight and halfway through I'm just thinking "this rips". Credits roll: Tony Gilroy.

Every sentence about this movie is perfect for making your eyes go a little wider as you scroll past

Results were actually pretty good with it finding real issues and maybe impacting overall team velocity. Anyway I wrote up the results for my team and now I'm asking for people to review my Agentic Review Review doc so hopefully Xzibit is out there smiling somewhere.

Nothing super decisive in the short term, but initial review time down by 30% month over month and review wall time down by 3 hours avg across all changes.

Adversarial design review :)

Google Open Source@opensource.google

AI-powered coding speed without structured design leads to auto-scaled mistakes. Introducing the open source Elephant-Goldfish Model plugin for co-designing specs and running stateless adversarial reviews with AI: goo.gle/elephant-gol...

A lot of friends/coworkers are doing full design docs as the reference artifacts, but I'm kinda looking at the objective/acceptance criteria as enough. The recreate the same way every time thing is a neat trick, just seems like overkill.

Managed to see the odyssey on the last day of imax today - visually incredible and I loved the retelling. Dialogue had it's moments lmao

I think it basically already means this, there are a few Linux distributions that don't touch it, but posting on this platform means you are using software written by AI.

Micah@rincewind.run

"I will not touch anything with ai-generated code" is going to mean, in pretty short order, "I will not touch software" this is just functionally what software development is now and it's only going to accelerate from here

Very confident that AI code being hideous and unreadable by people is a skill issue. You work on a team, your code is serving purpose and making money? Maintain it! Good code hygiene makes AI development faster and easier. Put the styleguide reviewer into your loop somewhere.

For what it's worth, in a many years old codebase with lots of pressure to release new features if you open the firehose of code quality/styleguide changes you can easily overwhelm a team.

Nothing super decisive in the short term, but initial review time down by 30% month over month and review wall time down by 3 hours avg across all changes.

congrats! it really highlights how most submitters aren't thinking adversarially about their own work (if they aren't doing llm reviews before putting it in front a human). curious what kind of throughput improvements you see! :)

I know GLHM is in a different state, but two of this guy passed me at the local 10k a couple of weeks ago

You have 19 pending CLs, starting from 2023? What, why, how are you managing your workspaces like this. I have 19 pending CLs from Monday. Oh no

Brother in law was telling us about dungeons crawler carl and said we might like it so my wife went to the library website and is now 207th in line lmao

Let's talk about the bristlemouths, 13 species of bioluminescent deep-dwelling ocean fish in genus Cyclothone. There are a lot of them. Like, a lot. Specifically, our best guess is there are a million billion (1E15) bristlemouths on Earth. Making them the most populous vertebrate on the planet.

It's genuinely fascinating that the US president keeps announcing that he just flat out doesn't know what trade is, he legit doesn't appreciate the concept of exchange and instead views economic activity through the lens of a dragon attempting to maximise its gold hoard to sit upon.

Well, that took longer than I thought, but he hath spoken:
