Just watched Escaping Idi Amin BBC2. I was aware of some of it and that something bad was going on but I was just 13 so watching it has been a bit of a join the dots for me. I knew about Enoch Powell and the racism but to me then it was just murmerings. 1/2

2/2 I had no idea how these people had ended up there or registered that they were Asian and certainly not that we had sent them there. It's long overdue for our history lessons in schools to cover the damage we've done with regard to our colonialist past. Disturbing but well worth a watch.

Still horribly windy here, nearly got blown into the road at one point when I took the dogs out so dread to think what it's like elsewhere.

How is it possible that anyone is considering yet more reliance on tech using AI and increasing data centres is a good idea with the way the world is now. A snip of an undersea cable, hacking, energy supply vulnerability not to mention attacks on data centres in a war scenario.

Last day of the pottery course this week. So while waiting for them to be fired after we glazed them, knitting a few brussels sprouts and Santa hats to avoid the million and one things I should be doing instead. Of course. 😁

Discussion on LBC was about driverless taxis and jobs. Tech answer is UBI so pay a population to do nothing. Scary thought as it progressed but no one mentioned for me was when the majority of a population is unemployed and ultimately draining profits, what does a country need it's population for?

Spent some time between the rain showers cat proofing the cat proof hedgehog feeding station after catching this on the camera. 🙄 I love all critters but cats really do piss me off when it comes to protecting our wildlife. No cat pics last night, hope it stays that way. 😠

Hurrah! Managed to throw a couple of decent bowl shapes in today's bowl throwing class in spite of finger wound. The Boots dressing strips held up remarkably well.

After 67 years it's only just dawned on me (Since Autism diagnosis) why I couldn't eat the crusts on sliced bread. I used to hide them in a tissue and put them in my pocket (Mum must have frequently found them) Just made cheese sarnie and bread is a bit dry. Had to rip the crusts off. 1/2

I'd realised a few childhood foibles related to sensory food issues but hadn't quite figured it out. It's the dryness of foods. I used to be accused of being greedy because I had to have a lot of butter on baked spuds, a lot of gravy and a lot of cream on spongy desserts. It wasn't greed it was dry!

Not done a jigsaw in years but had to go to Boots for better finger wound supplies and popped into a few charity shops looking for another hedgehog food bowl. Chap turned up with a load of puzzles so got one seeing as I can't do much else while trying to make sure finger is healing for pottery class

Damn! Was planning to try a couple more pots this morning after taking down the sun shades and managed to cut a deep v shape in my finger. Blood dripping everywhere and now a very throby hurty finger. Annoyed with myself now. 😠

RIP Esther. I sincerely hope she didn't suffer as terribly as both my parents did. This is when I met her in Russia when I volunteered to help with the Kosmo Children's hospital appeal. What an incredible experience that was. Couldn't post more when I tried so will add to comments later.

As they got braver, we gave them paper and paints and discovered Denis was an amazing artist. He was in his element and it was a joy to behold.

So before we left we had a bit of a party and gave away all the toys and goodies people had collected. Those 2 amazing doctors were up all night giving their own blood to save a new born. They hadn't been paid in 3 months. Little Lena (age 15) was my best mate while I was there. ❤️

When we arrived it was shocking, the stench got into our very pores. This was the shower, the operating theater wasn't much better. The floor shook when lorries drove past.

We didn't see any children, wondering if there were actually any there. Then when us artists started to do our bit, doors started to open with little eyes peeping out. They had nothing, no toys, no paper no pencils or crayons. Rooms were bare. They wanted Disney, so I did Disney.

Have had to order some tinfoil, something very odd going on over this Fairford thing. Hardly surprising people are suspicious after being told they've been released on bail and no explosives found just petrol. Which must have been embarrassing to Trump and Rubio if they were just nicking petrol. 1/2

Not charging them or holding as terrorists as a result but now we are being told Iran has something to do with it?Eh what? Was there a heated phone call insisting faces are saved? Are we in WOMD territory again using it now to justify more bombings in case we Brits start questioning US bases here?

Pottery throwing lesson yesterday was how to trim partially dry pots, that has to be the most enjoyable and satisfying thing I've done in ages. Akin to the one and only time I had a go at wood turning.

I hate rip off pricing, noticed when I went to the garden centre to get barley straw for hedgehog house. Barley straw in nets to clear green pond water £16, roughly the same quantity in a plastic bag for pet bedding £1.99. Crazy!

Just got back from watching Sense and Sensibility with my friend at our lovely little cinema. Loved it, scenery/horses/wildlife is stunning and a fabulous cast. Well worth the £6. Extra nice having my friend back for a while as I so miss watching films with someone else.

Phew! Hodgeheg vanished last night, no sign of it so rather concerned, then my neighbour turned up an hour ago having found it trying to get back through their gate. So now her husband has a job to do making a hole in our fence pronto, poor chap surrounded by us critter lovers. 😂

She grumped because she doesn't like the tarp I've got down for the potters wheel and it's too near her bed, then I got a dirty look because I walked in front of the sun shine. 😂

Oh for gods sake shut the fuck up you dreary insane thick turd! SOMEONE STOP HIM!!!!!!! It's artificial, artificial bloody artificial. USA stop him for all our sakes.

Plucked up the courage to start a pottery throwing course last week 😁. So set up the wheel my son got me today in the conservatory, still a bit rubbish but did get better at centering today at least.
