It's inconceivable to me how someone who lost in a free & fair election can incite an angry mob to attack his own government, (the very definition of treason) & be allowed to run for any office ever again.

Trump, for over a decade: "I wouldn't give him a state dinner." This week: A full state dinner at the White House for China's Xi Jinping, complete with the arrival ceremony, a gift, and billionaires everywhere.

Liberalism: we shouldn't let bad things happen to anyone. Conservatism: nothing is bad unless it's happening to me. It always, ALWAYS boils down to this.

Masters of the Universe was an incredibly fun movie. It's action packed, constantly funny, and it cleverly and lovingly applies the source material while still breaking new ground. It's rises well above simple nostalgia bait. Best toy based movie since Barbie! I highly recommend it!

If you like violent movies with a heaping side of comedy, this movie is so much fun. The plot: roommates who are aspiring actresses beat the living shit out of each other. It's just over an hour in length, is streaming on Tubi, and is definitely worth your time.

Here's a limerick I wrote for St. Patrick's Day. Trump was never know for his guile, But now he's dumb AND senile. Without making a plan, He said "let's bomb Iran," So they'll forget I'm a huge pedophile."

Myths can tell us much about where we've come from. They can also be keys to understanding the present. Their universal themes are as relevant today as they were millennia ago. One unspoken reason behind Trump's disastrous war on Iran can be found in a myth of a neighboring region: Gilgamesh. (1/17)

to live a good life, to be a good king. Gilgamesh resolves to do right by his people and help them to live good lives too. And through his tale of a awful king turned great, Gilgamesh does live forever. Trump is no Gilgamesh. He's not introspective, he doesn't learn, he doesn't change. (16/17 )

He just acts in his own self-interest and will never tame his ego. There is no happy ending for him, no miraculous turn around. Like Gilgamesh, he too will live forever through his story, but he will be the tyrant, the monster. His monuments will sites of scorn and his story will be one of disgrace.

he's trying to atone for his sins (or at least do something that outshines them) by slaying a beast whose death will do nothing but, directly or indirectly, bring pain to his people. Like Gilgamesh, he is trying to live forever through stupid monuments like his ballroom and the Arc de Trump. (14/17)

And he's trying to control the narrative of his own story, so that people will remember him fondly. The only problem is, he's no Gilgamesh. After Gilgamesh's quest for immortality ends in failure, he returns to Uruk, his ego tamed. He remembers the words of Utnapishtim the wise man he met… (15/17)

Enkidu dies and Gilgamesh is beside himself with grief. He builds monuments to him, and tells his story constantly. But he realizes that one day those monuments will crumble and the stories will be forgotten. Then, he realizes that he too will die and be forgotten, and he can't abide this. (12/17)

So he goes off to find the secret of immortality. Trump is at his Gilgamesh moment. He's old, despised, and has done so many terrible things, and he knows it. A few months ago he publicly pondered if anything could "get [him] into heaven." He knows he is horrible, and like Gilgamesh… (13/17)

and could never apply a lesson for literature to himself, he fails to realize that even if a truly positive, successful outcome to his war were possible, it would not negate the evil he has done, and it would not make the lives of the American people better. In fact, it will make them worse. (10/17)

After killing Humabab, the goddess Ishtar is so impressed with Gilgamesh that she tries to seduce him. He refuses her advances and insults her. Angry, she unleashes the Bull of Heaven. This kaiju bull brings destruction to Uruk. Gilgamesh and Enkidu are able to slay it but Enkidu is wounded. (11/17)

In fact, it indirectly makes things worse. Iran is Trump's Humbaba. It's the giant monster he is desperate to slay, and not just to distract from the Epstein files. Overthrowing an oppressive Theocracy and bringing freedom to the people would be an objectively good thing. However... (8/17)

it's unlikely that he's doing it for those reasons. His unspoken reason is, he knows he's a piece of shit, a joke, and a disgrace, but if he could slay this beast he would be Trump the Liberator of Iran instead of Trump the Moronic, Criminal, Rapist, Pedo. But because he's not intellectual… (9/17)

Once Gilgamesh realizes how terrible he's been he wants to fix his image. Instead of making the lives of the people better, he determines that if he does something awesome the people will forget all about his past evils. So, he and Enkidu head to the forest to kill the giant ogre Humbaba. (6/17)

Humbaba isn't really bothering anybody in the forest, but slaying a giant monster seems like the perfect reputation remedy. Instead of Gilgamesh the Horrible King, he'll be Gilgamesh the Monster Slayer! Guess what? It doesn't work. It did nothing to make the lives of the people better. (7/17)

The people pray to the gods to save them from Gilgamesh, and they create a wild-man, Enkidu, who is a physical match for Gilgamesh. Eventually, Enkidu arrives in Uruk, tells Gilgamesh that the people hate him, that his actions are despicable, and that he's going to teach him a lesson. (4/17)

The two brawl for hours, and the battle ends in a stalemate. But Gilgamesh, having been taken to his limit, promises to stop all his horrible behavior if Enkidu will be his friend. Of course Trump doesn't have an Enkidu. Some leaders stand up to him, but no one has put him in his place. (5/17)

You might wonder, "what relevance could a 4000 year old story have to do with Trump and his Iranian war?" Regarding the war, not much. However, Trump has some psychological similarities to Gilgamesh, and many of his recent actions mirror the existential crisis that Gilgamesh contends with. (2/17)

Gilgamesh is king of Uruk, a Sumerian city-state. He's 2/3 a god, and has no physical equal. He's a terrible king that enslaves his people and has sex with virgins before their weddings. See the similarities? Trump wants to be king, thinks he's the 2nd-coming, exploits workers, is a rapist. (3/17)

I saw Psycho Killer last night. It was SO bad and the killer’s devil worshipping aspects were SO cliche, that I left the theater to check if it was one of those Christian movies that’s marketed like a normal movie. It wasn’t, which somehow makes it worse. Awful in every way. Not even worth a stream.

It’s not just a right, it’s a responsibility!

Just a quick reminder that it’s okay for US citizens to criticize their own government. In fact, it’s one of our most fundamental rights.

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 1 Bring Her Back This is the movie that stuck with me the most. It hits on several levels by blending primal moments of horror that make you recoil with profoundly tragic elements of loss, abuse, guilt, grief, and the knowledge things can’t be set right. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 2 Weapons Told out of order, the perspective shifts allow the ambiguity of the horror to weigh you down and keep you disjointed. When the truth is revealed, it’s unexpected, bizarre, and gives us a new horror icon. It’s an instant genre classic. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 3 The Rule of Jenny Pen The loss control and cognition to age is terrifying, and someone weaponizing that to torment others just for kicks is evil. The trailers made this look supernatural, but reality is far more horrifying. Lithgow and Rush are great. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 4 Sinners Amazing film. The music transcending time scene is one of the most incredibly powerful scenes ever. The vampires a metaphor works well too, but the movie leading up to that is so good that I feel the horror detracts from my overall enjoyment. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 5 Strange Harvest One of the best found footage films in years. It examines the hunt for Mr. Shiny a bizarre, vicious serial killer with motives rooted in the occult. While there are some found footage faux pas, the story and horror will keep you hooked. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 6 The Ugly Stepsister A delightfully twisted & revolting take on Cinderella that tells the tale from the perspective of Elvira—a stepsister who takes extreme measures to become beautiful enough to win the prince’s heart. A great semi-comedic body horror. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 7 Bone Lake A great thriller about two couples that rent the same house. It’s obvious that one pair set it up to mess with the other, eschewing the obvious twist for far more demented reveals. It goes hard in its final act and deserves more attention. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 8 Good Boy The film’s premise—a haunting from a dog’s perspective—is executed masterfully. Although the ghost stuff is fairly standard, the way it’s presented is unique, suspenseful in a different way, and instantly memorable. Indy deserves an award! #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 9 Silent Night, Deadly Night SHOCKINGLY good, the biggest surprise of 2025, and the only franchise film on my list. It clearly loves the original but alters the plot and characters enough to make something different, clever, fun, fresh, and satisfying. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 No. 10 Shelby Oaks This film didn’t get much love but I liked how the found footage part set up the rest of it. The ensuing mystery is suspenseful, creepy and disturbing, albeit a bit predictable. It goes all in on the supernatural. That might be a drawback. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 Honorable Mentions Frankenstein: Beautiful and well performed, but very disappointing. If Del Toro loves the book so much why SO MANY pointless changes? Companion: Great concept. It gave me cognitive dissonance as I rooted for the AI bot to kill the humans. #horror2025

Honorable Mentions (Cont): Monster Island: A fun & well-made homage to Creature From the Black Lagoon Presence: A tense & unique presentation of a haunting from a ghost’s perspective Together: Excellent idea for both a body horror & a codependence metaphor, but it held back too much #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 Before the best I want to give you my 3 worst. To be fair I didn’t watch every horror release in 2025. I intentionally avoided stuff I knew would be bad, like Strangers 2, the Popeye and Micky crap, and The Ritual, so there were probably worse horror movies. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 2nd Worst I Know What You Did Last Summer The worst legacyquel yet. Every character was an unlikable asshole, the dialog was filled with nonsensical “witty” comments being said to no one but the audience, and they did the legacy characters dirty. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 The Worst 28 Years Later I know it has fans but I hated this. The tone is all over the place, the infected variants are like videogame enemies, the stakes are almost non-existent (leave, the rest of the world is uninfected!), and the ending was dumb as shit. #horror2025

Top 10 Horror Movies of 2025 3rd Worst Traumatika I feel kind of bad picking on this indie film. I wouldn’t have seen it if hadn’t been in the theater. It had a few effective moments but the plot, pacing, and style are all over the place & the acting is too weak for its subject matter. #horror2025
