My "daily cup of social media coffee" is a daily post of some random German guy trying to free cut the most accurate slice of bread and a guy with a mullet trying to get food poisoning at Chinese buffets. I love the internet.

So, that sucked last night. But it was just a delay. Join Mitch and myself on the North Side Baseball Podcast yesterday. It's the best way to get back into the saddle.

Baseball is a game of many moments. You don't lose a full baseball game 8-2 in 12 innings because of one, specific moment. But execution in those moments can go a long way to winning and Matt Shaw absolutely blew his chance. And with it, helped delay the playoff party. Read Matt's breakdown below!

Matt Shaw couldn't get a bunt down in a key moment. If that happens one time, shame on him. If it happens twice in less than two weeks, well, shame on him again—but shame on his team, too, for not fixing the problem. northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/...

Go to sleep annoyed tonight. I will. Go to sleep frustrated tonight. I will. But alas, tomorrow is a new day. And I'm sure someone new will give up a two strike home run to sink the game. Thankfully, I'm busy, so I won't have to watch it.

It's been years since I get truly angry at baseball games. I get excited, but I have long since put away the extreme anger I get watching baseball games. Today? I'm frustrated too.

Ian Happ's throw-out at 3b is fine. Be aggressive the right way and force a perfect play. I hate that Hoerner steal of 3b, however. Even with two strikes it doesn't add a lot with two outs (no sac possibility) and took the chance away.

2026 is a wild year and nothing is more wild (IMO) than both advocating for the Cubs to call up Shelby Miller based on his history or him being a possible callup based on his recent TJS. But alas, here we are. But why should the Cubs call him up? northsidebaseball.com/forums/topic...
