This is the worst threat we face as a nation. Willingness to accept the Big Lie and acquiesce in anti-democratic measures disguised as election security has become a loyalty test for Republicans. Trump Says He Wants to Cancel Elections, but Here Is the Real Threat www.nytimes.com/2026/02/12/o...

This is what you get when you give up your only advantage in a negotiation. Republicans are demanding that the bill extending ACA subsidies must include abortion restrictions. www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...
Just trying to make sure that I understand how government ethics work in the Trump era. A mayor can't let Qatar pay for a business trip, but Trump can get a personal gift of a plane and a sweetheart deal for a golf resort from Qatar, in exchange for a foreign military base in the USA. Right?
Schumer is taking the position that he is being a pragmatist, "in the service of his foremost goal of winning back the Senate." Can someone please explain how failing to back a Democratic winner is pragmatic, and how it suggests any ability to pick future winners? www.nytimes.com/2025/11/05/n...
I wish the Times and other national media would quit publishing opinion pieces in which far-right writers deign to inform the Democratic Party on the "obvious" path to winning elections. Apparently, all we need to do is become Republicans. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/01/o...
How twisted and weak does your ethical reasoning have to be to think that pointing out morally indefensible behavior is actually encouraging it? Denying men some ludicrously dubious right to abuse women does not rob them of their inherent masculinity. www.wonkette.com/p/megyn-kell...
News outlets view Trump's bizarre, unfocused ramblings as "just Trump being Trump" and try to find the few bits of coherent, policy-oriented speech to report. This creates a false impression of his competence. Reporters are so reluctant to make value judgments that they miss the real story.
