Your crazy neighborhood minecraft modder. (No serious, that describes me pretty well, just look out the window, I definitely won't be there, but you likely didn't look anyway, therefore... Potato!)

I got accepted into Hytales affiliate program! πŸ₯³ Now I am actually forced to mod it. πŸ˜… If you haven't bought the game yet, but are considering to, and want to support me a bit, feel free to use the code "BRAZIER" when buying the game ^^

I am in search of a few people that might be interested to give Project Brazier for 1.21.1 a try and maybe build a few things that could be used on the mods page πŸ‘€ Quite a few new blocks were added, as well as others reworked. So the old images are quite outdated.

this will probs trigger bots and AI slop people but it's worth asking, any artists I follow (or am friends with) that may be interested in a commission for a birthday gift for someone (will make sure they are ok with it first) it would require drawing an animal :) Obviously no AI

Heyho everyone o/ I'll come to the point rather quickly. I am searching someone that might be interested in becoming a kind of "ambassador" for my mod Project Brazier. After a multi year hiatus it's returning for 1.21.1 soonish (and 26.1 straight after that). Thread ->

Unfortunately I am neither a great builder nor youtuber. I can't offer you much, expect your videos about the mod being embedded on curseforge and modrinth. Maybe I'll also be able to help you out with some modded stuff in exchange.

But what exactly is Project Brazier about? Well, simply put, I want it to be a full RPG experience within Minecraft. Realistically? It's a glorified building blocks & decor mod. If I caught anyones attention, feel free to reply/pm me :3

Last year, miHoYo copied my puzzle game Ouros in Zenless Zone Zero. Because they are a recognized, billion-dollar studio and my game isn't well known, some people are now assuming that their version is the original, and mine is the clone. I hope this video clears that up.

I think we should be shouting this from the streets and making sure everyone is fully aware they're going to get rugpulled eventually. The more of You that you offload to LLMs and the like the worse it'll be for you when they jack up the prices to actually push profit. Don't be a tool.

And during that same time period, Modrinth was not even scanning mods that were uploaded. People were literally able to purchase an easy to detect malware, upload it and nobody would've noticed for months. While this is no longer the case, many people cried about how much safer Modrinth is.

And to add to this: Both Modrinth and Curseforge, are not miracle hosting platforms. There will always be ways to bypass both their malware detection systems. What is important, is what's done once a new malware get's detected. And imo, CF did a pretty good job at that.

4. Curseforge bribing people. Curseforge does often commission new modding tools and library mods for new games, to help bootstrap the modding ecosystem. The offer to do that for Subnautica 2, was treated as said bribery.

5. Curseforge not being secure. Yes... people are still bringing up Fracturizer. I just want to point out, at the time this happened, not one malware scanner was able to detect Fracturizer, and Curseforge collaborated closely with these softwares to fix that.

The arguments said Admin brought up, were mostly outdated, and partially even pulled from the Twitch era. Things that have not been true for years at this point. And it may also be worth to note, that they allegedly do seem to have good ties with Nexus Mods (or even work at), a competitor.*

* This comes from a source that is more knowledgeable within the Subnautica community than I am, but based on a brief search of said admins message history, I am inclined to believe this.

2. Curseforge does not pay 70% towards it's creators, well that's just plainly a lie. I have been pretty open about my income over the years. The reason people earn more on Modrinth, is because Modrinth pays like YouTube, based on views. Curseforge pays, simply based on contribution to the platform*

3. Curseforge allegedly harassing members of the Subnautica 2 community. I'll put it like this: I have seen the messages they have sent two of the admins. They were requests for collaboration, not harassment. One of the admins seemed open about it, the other hostile from the get go.

1. Curseforge allegedly supporting Israeli Military. Like many stories, this has a glint of truth in it, at the beginning of the war, right after the terrorist attack on the music festifal, CF did really make a post about supporting **their** Military, as they are located in Israel 2/?

However, they backpadled quite quickly once things became more questionable in the conflict, then Curseforge switched to support those that lost their homes in the massacre. Again, Curseforge is located in Israel, their employees were and are affected by the conflict. 3/?

I may stream some #mcdev today, reviving my old crafting mechanic. - Project Brazier for 1.21.1 is reaching the point I am feeling comfortable to release it. Unfortunately it's nowhere where I wanted it to be content wise, but it'll be available on Fabric and NeoForge! Here's a small teaser.

The stream had to end earlier than I would've liked. I am not yet skilled enough in streaming while simultanouelsy solving more complex issues. What I had forgotten back then, I had already solved that specific issue over a year ago! I do plan to continue work on this in about an hour.

It's been 14 days since Hytale released, here's my conclusion so far: 1. A decent part of the modding community is vile, they'll rip other mods, make minor changes and re-release as their own. 2. My Minecraft mod downloads doubled since the release. 1/?

5/5 6. The reliance & acceptance of AI has lead to the lack of respect among modders which I know from MC, because there are no rules in war, love and AI. 7. The amount of AI slop is killing my entire motivation to browse for mods.

P.s. A lot of this is negative, but I still think that Hytale is an amazing game, even if it still has a long way to go. And while I want to continue modding it, I'll restrict my interactions to the MC Modders that also do Hytale, avoiding Hytale only Modders.

3/? 4. My brain just doesn't work with "artist first" development approaches, I think in logic, not in "ouh fancy gui to click together a new feature". Sure it's optional, but with a lack of documentation it's hard to not use these. I also don't like Unity nor Unreal for these reasons.

4/5 5. There are things I'd like to do, but I lack the artistic skills for them + I know that other modders would just decompile my mod, steal the tech and say they made it. I'd be fine with teaching people, but not with the current attitude so many Hytale "modders" have right now.

2/? 3. Personally my motivation for modding Minecraft skyrocketed, while I am loosing interest in Hytale. It just doesn't yet feel unique enough from MC, and I really don't like certain design decisions.

The amount of AI Slop for Hytale really ruins all my motivation to even browser mods :( It's a shame modding has come to this point, and imo an even bigger shame that Curseforge is so tolerant of AI slop...

Small change, I'll start earlier. Might be a few minutes post launch. Will see

I haven't streamed in ages πŸ‘€ I'll livestream some development of my Borders & Nations mod for #Hytale tomorrow, approx 1-2 hours after release. Depends on how quickly I manage to return from work. Livestream will be on www.twitch.tv/jtk222 I'll also answer questions regarding modding the game.

Thanks at @curseforge.com for giving me the opportunity. I'll try to create numerous utilities for servers, mostly targeting the smaller communities that don't have huge investments behind them. Oh and btw, I got the creator code "BRAZIER" if you want to support me while buying the game ^^

@modpackker.bsky.social Hey, I am curious, who came up with those standards? And since when are those standards? I do really not appreciate my projects being slandered for not fulfilling any arbitrarily made up standards, which don't even make sense for some of my projects.

Like, it's not a standard for a mod to be open source, even if some people wish it to be. Nor does it make sense to have images for a utility (unless you want those shiny 4k config file screenshots). Should I also be lying about categories only to have more than 1?

Spending this Saturday at Pen & Paper convention, going to host a game, and spent the last 8 hours translating the important play material into German πŸ™ƒ I definitely underestimated the workload. Going to spend another 2-3 hours on it tomorrow. So much about my plans to work on Project Brazier....
