Retired teacher; I keep busy between gardening & my 2 rescue pups. I have 1 foot in very blue California and the other in very red Idaho. In Idaho I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.

#ColorfulMonday #QuiltSky I love these stories about making a scrap quilt from leftover pieces from 5 years of quilting. I'll attach what Julie Sweetkind-Singer and her sister Beth Brockway said about "Quilted Memories."

#TuesdayBlue #QuiltSky this is "Firestorm" by Susie Monday from San Antonio, Texas. She started doodling this quilt at a jazz club. Later the Firestorm concept came together during the wild fire season of 2018.

#SundayYellow #QuilySky Meet "Sugar!" Barbara Wilson quilted this picture of Sugar, a COVID rescue pup. They had a wonderful Hooman and pup relationship. Sugar liked to sit by the front window and watch for her return when she went out. The background fabric came from that chair.

#FridayPurple #QuiltSky Kathleen Crittenden from California created "Running Around In Circles." Her greatest challenge was quilting the circles to her standards. She accomplished that by quilting some with a walking foot, others free motion, and still others are couched.

#TuesdayBlue #QuiltSky "Overheard" by Laura Rafey was a challenge for her. She had been intimidated by foundation paper piecing and decided that, once and for all, she would learn this technique. And, boy did she ever, this crow is great.

#ThursdayGreen #QuiltSky This is "Camp Ke Lala" by Mandy Fleig from California. The background is a patchwork of the Camp Kitschy Lala by Alison Glass. Then she placed a big barnstar in the center to give it some pop!

#PinkWednesday #QuiltSky "Autumn Hills"was created by Cristin Grothaus from California. Cristin enjoys working with curved pieces and this quilt is a testament to her ability to sew them flawlessly.

#TuesdayBlue #QuiltSky This awesome, 4 panel quilt, was made by Allison Muir from New South Wales, Australia. Allison makes large, statement pieces. She uses quilting techniques to hold the different layers of her art together. Most of her work revolves around water, waves, and oceans.

From the beginning of the war in Iran, I've warned one reason that Trump wants such a war is to provoke a terrorist attack at home. History is full of leaders - from Putin in Russia to Orban in Hungary - who have used foreign wars and real or manufactured threats to expand their authority.

#ColorfulMonday #QuiltSky The name of this quilt is "Labyrinth." It was made by: Katie Pasquini-Masopust around 1985. Katie machine pieced and hand quilted this gem. I think Katie was a very progressive quilter.

#SundayYellow #QuiltSky You're gonna love the name of this quilt: "Melon Patch!" Melon Patch was made by Helen Ericson of Emporia, Kansas. I know 2 things about Helen. She is an excellent quilter. And she has a great sense of humor.
