Frustration over school takeovers, vouchers could sway Texas voters in close governor’s race www.texastribune.org/2026/10/26/g... The school voucher thing in Texas is a disgrace -robbing from the poor and giving to the rich - with special corruption and moneymaking opportunities to Abbott's donors

texastribune.orgWill school vouchers, state takeovers motivate Texas voters? As Democrat Gina Hinojosa focuses on “saving” public schools, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has emphasized property tax cuts in the final weeks of the campaign.

Lina Khan on Mamdani: "One thing we saw the mayor be very attentive to is all sorts of daily nickel and diming -- taking on junk fees, subscription traps. Those can seem very micro and targeted, but in the aggregate I see those as really designed to take on unfair methods of competition."

The overvalued stock of Space X can do real harm to millions of people around the world -regulate Wall Street

Jake Broe@realjakebroe.bsky.social

Every single person who bought Tesla stock five years ago and has been holding it is a loser. No dividends. No stock buybacks. Zero asset appreciation in five years. Meanwhile the S&P 500 index fund is up 65% over the same period.

America needs Lina Khan more than ever. Hopefully she'll be the US Attorney General in 2028

Now that phase I of @hcrichardson.bsky.social's “250 to 250" project has wrapped, I'll share all the videos (1 per day) for which I wrote scripts. Some were recorded nearly word for word; others underwent much-needed editing for clarity & brevity. Here’s completion of the Transcontinental Railroad.

Nice, don't mess with music publishers.

The owners of Elvis Presley’s music sued Anthropic, saying it trained its AI models on more than 200 of Presley’s songs without permission, accusing it of copyright infringement. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/25/a...

America is probably the most corrupt country on the globe

But only sold in China. A Western EV for under $12,000. An affordable EV can be done, just not here in America. It's a rigged game. electrek.co/2026/10/24/v...

Of course the gringos came to rob everything and Cuba is next unfortunately.

Susan McPherson@susanmcp.bsky.social

“People thought that things would change, but in reality nothing changed.” José, another fisherman who used to work for PDVSA, had a darker view: “The gringos came to rob everything—the oil, the minerals. We are rich in everything, but here, we don’t have anything.” Bu @anneapplebaum.wsocial.eu

Its crazy that Hemp can't be an agricultural product in Texas.

Clayton Tucker@claytontuckertx.com

Texas family farms are struggling to survive, and young Texans are being priced out of agriculture. Hemp could help change that. It's a drought-tolerant cash crop that could bring new income to family farms, keep land in the family, and give the next generation a chance to make a living farming.

People in Houston are leaving their “I Voted” stickers at the memorial of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, who was killed by an ICE agent in July. A beautiful reminder of the people who can’t cast a ballot themselves, but whose lives matter just as much. #SheShed #VOTE

This is incredible - almost unbelievable LFG Texas !!

Clayton Tucker@claytontuckertx.com

There is real change in the air in Texas, y'all. When a lifelong Trump Republican and a Democrat sit down together on national television to call out Greg Abbott and the Big Tech billionaires threatening our water, land, and livelihoods, you know something BIG is happening.

all true

Talarico: "We just found out that [Elon Musk] is almost single-handedly bankrolling this effort to install Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate and defeat this movement...Elon Musk wants our land. He wants our water. He wants his very own personal United States senator. He is trying to buy Texas."

seems unusually relevant today...

Hillary Rodham Clinton@hillaryclinton.bsky.social

Ten years ago today. In just the last few days: Trump made a deal for the U.S. to buy Russian diesel, an economic lifeline for Putin; he and Elon Musk blamed each other for an order that slowed down Starlink satellite connectivity over Ukraine...

Ukraine is a helpful reminder of where the various players are and what the future has in store for all of us....

Scott Horton@robertscotthorton.bsky.social

Elon Musk makes clear that he has a deeply emotional attachment to Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin and their war making against Ukraine... making clear why StarLink and StarShield abruptly failed during a Russian ballistic missile attack on Ukraine this past week.

It’s taking a long time for people to wake up to the fact that these platforms are not public forums but privately owned companies with terrible agendas and total control. If you lay down with these dogs…

not wrong

kenofseattle@kenofseattle.bsky.social

We are being robbed. Of our homes, our healthcare, our retirements, our recreation, our very futures. They lay off 1,000s and use the saving to buy back stocks. Aren't you tired of these thieves taking money out of your pockets?

California, make us proud...please

Micah@rincewind.run

since California ballots are now out: prop 40 is the billionaire tax, and you should vote yes to stick it to them but both props 41 and 42 are designed to retroactively cancel the billionaire tax because they’re afraid they can’t beat it at the ballot box yes on 40, no on 41 and 42

Papa always told me that taking the easy way out is what gets you in trouble. I reckon he was right. The Corrupt Bigshots and billionaires have had politicians taking the easy way out for far too long, while working Texans pay the price.
