and from the sublime to the rediculous. I alternate books in French and English. After finishing the last book (in English) and not wanting to go downstairs I asked my son to bring up a random book from the shelves of, as yet, unread French SF... Perry fucking Rodhan... ah well, at least it's short.

currently rattling through this again and it's making me want to reread her Johnathan Strange & Mr Norrell, and Gaiman's Stardust, and Townsend Warner's The Kingdoms of Elfin - all at the same time!

I have just scrolled through the NY Times 100 best TV shows of the 21st Century. I have seen one show (in its 5 season entirety) and one episode of another - and that is it. And looking at the list I don't feel like I've missed out at all.

Currently reading: there are some very strange, surreal, old French SF pulps with an odd 'otherness' about them that is bewilderingly fascinating. (At least to someone raised on the conventions of Anglo American SF). This sadly is not one of them. Groovy cover though.

This was an odd moment. Last night, working on a one page gag comic, I had two draw two of my regular female characters sunbathing. I've drawn these two for years, often wearing tight 'retro' comic book spacebabe space suits, but never in bikinis before. It felt weirdly voyeuristic & intrusive.

You see the printed black square from a page in Robert Fludd's "Utriusque cosmi maioris" (1617) that represented the nothingness that was prior to the universe. The square is framed by four sentences in Latin: "Et sic in infinitum" (And so on to infinity). #earlymodern #skystorians

You are up to date.
