A local teevee story on rising the costs for Obamacare in MN briefly mentioned "reduced federal subsidies" as a cause. Folks, it's a major cause, and it was an intentional move by the party that currently runs Washington. A week from today, we could make some changes. Or not.

* The Minnesota Board of Pardons consists of the governor., the AG, and the chief justice of the MN Supreme Court. To receive a pardon or commutation, the Governor and at least one other board member must vote in favor of clemency.

I just watched the last few innings of the World Series game last night, and I have to say the Rays look like a beaten and broken team. Watching tonight to see if they have any fight left at all.

Our neighboorhood Dunn Bros coffeeshop used to have a pretty good crowd that lingered into the evening. I stopped in for a cup at 3 pm and was the only customer. The store closes at 4 pm these days. ☕

I suspect most of the major races will be called by the time I get home on Nov. 3. I hope any election surprises will be pleasent ones. I work with a good team of election judges, and I trust all will run smoothly this year, as it has in past years.

MN Folks: I hope you have cast your vote in the midterm election that concludes next Tuesday evening at 8 pm. If you haven't, please promise yourself to get to your early voting center this week or to your regular polling site on Nov. 3. I'm counting on you. You are the heroes we need.

The house on the right was about 5 blocks away from Stately Moffitt Manor. It was located right behind an elementary school, which was undamaged.

Not unexpectedly, the political battle has taken a nasty turn in the final days. Mailings from non-existing organizations, edgy attacks on teevee, elbows up everywhere. Sometimes these tactics work. Sometimes they don't. It's up to us, now.

"That’s how it goes when everyone’s a pundit. It’s about time we act like voters instead."

Well, good. The auto shop fixed the faulty tire pressure sensor, changed the oil, and everything else looks okay. Mrs. Lungs and I have one more longer trip planned before the snow flies. Family visit this time.

I can only theorize that Lisa Demuth's odd, halting delivery of her opening statement tonight was an attempt to "play out the clock" when she realized she didn't have enough words to fill her alloted 90 seconds.

If you played a drinking game of taking a shot everytime Lisa Demuth said some variation of "fraud" during tonight's gubernatorial candidate debate, you would like be passed out, in the ER, or both. Fifteen times, at my unoffical count.

Of all the things to get my undies in a bunch about these days, this ranks pretty low on my list, but you go ahead and be you, KSTP. #SNAPGATE

Two days, two hours, and two minutes...that's how long it took to get information from the state surrounding concerns with a Minnesota EBT card sent to a Wisconsin family.

The Mounds View Vietnamese restaurant Mrs. Lungs and I love to get carryout from is so fast filing orders, I have to stop at a park halfway there to order on the phone. Our food is almost always ready when I get there. #PinkFlower

Food was hot, fresh, and tasty as usual. My only comment is they have a sliding scale on what they consider "mild." My lips are still numb from that curry mock duck. 🔥

The Wall Street Journal says she is inflating the number of personal pan pizzas she earned. 😉

Is anyone interested in learning how many personal pan pizzas I earned through the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program in second grade?

Back from William O'Brien and Stillwater. The fall colors are a bit past peak, but the weather is perfect. Had a nice picnic lunch at the park, where he helped a couple of 1st time vistors find the river trails.

PSA: The intersection of Highways 96 and 61 in White Bear Lake is currently CLOSED, so be prepared for some detours. Bonus: we saw some nice WBL neighborhoods for the first time.

Weird thing for the WSJ to be worried about in the first place.

I went to the same high school that the show's creator did, Warren Central in Indianapolis. No, it wasn't like Glee, but the school has always had great music and drama programs.

KARE 11@kare11.bsky.social

It's official. "Glee" is coming back. The reboot was announced Wednesday, Oct. 21. Here's what we know.

Eric Pratt's AI gaff on his website is the first time I've heard of this loser less than two weeks away from the election. You would think at an open seat in a congressional district once thought to be competitive would get more attention, but nope. 🤔

While many of us hope that a Dem controled Congress might reverse or even slow this trend, I'm afraid the worst is yet to come. 😳

File Under: Prattfall

Keith Edwards@keithedwards.bsky.social

Eric Pratt, the republican running for Angie Craig's open seat in MN-02, left the AI restating his prompt on his website. "The President is not popular, so all messaging should be focused on local politics and needs." amazing

As I suspected, the new "whisleblower" program announced by the White House is just another weaponization of a government meant to protct and serve us. The first $10k check went to Nick Shirley, that little weasel Lisa Demuth invited to Minnesota. 😠

Just finishing up on a novel by a MN author set in the 1930s (Power and Light) and I can't wait to read the sequel, if I can find it. Did you sever see that great little film, Sweet Land? This is the guy who wrote that.

My brother-in-law lives in a North Dakota community of roughly 6,500 residents that has zero traditional polling sites. Everyone votes by mail there. You can fill out a ballot at the county courthouse on election day, but that's about it.

Those of you who still watch teevee news have probably noticed the new ads for state legislators. All are DFLers, as near as I can figure. I don't know which PAC is paying for them, but they are not coming from the candidates campaigns. 📺
