I honestly kinda miss the milquetoast 2010s trans stories for the cis. They were like after school specials about how to befriend your local slur

Also these critiques are separate from the quality of the work and if i like them or if I dislike them

I just want less stories about how being trans is miserable and we're all super fucked up and more about how's it's beautiful and joyous

I also think part of the cis acceptance and praise for trans miserabilia and brain rot stories is that it gives cis liberals an excuse to gawk at us under the guise of understanding. And we're so desperate to see ourselves portrayed by ourselves that seeing us portrayed at our worst is enough
