Using transcription is awesome, but this is now a frequent experience, since we both work from home 🙈 Husband: "Sorry, what did you say?" Me: "Not you, I'm talking to Claude" 🙃

We can build apps faster than ever. The bottleneck now is the last mile: getting through app review. I put together a cheat sheet of how long it actually takes to publish to the App Store and Google Play based on what I've seen. Does it match your experience?

iOS builds in SDK 56 are faster out of the box. Expo modules now ship as precompiled XCFrameworks, so they link instead of compiling from source on every build. No config, no migration steps. Full nerd sniping eng blog from @chrfalch.bsky.social right here: try.expo.dev/precompiled-...

🥳 We raised some money. Expo is the best it's ever been, and this round of funding will help us get a lot better. With this money we can go faster on the things that matter: faster builds, smoother native integrations, and better e-2-e DX. Charlie wrote about what's next: expo.dev/blog/what-ex...

Reminder: the APK you build for testing is NOT the actual app size 🔹 Debug APK: 95MB 🔹 AAB: 68 MB 🔹 Actual download: 24MB Your users aren't downloading 95 MB: APKs bundle resources for every device config. AAB lets Google Play deliver only what the user's device actually needs

A fun graphQL hack I learned from this: you can change an Enum field to a String as a non-breaking change by deleting the Enum and replacing it with a Scalar of the same name!

"I'm new to React Native / Expo Router - how should I structure my codebase?" It's a question that comes up quite a bit, and this is an attempt at providing some very concrete suggestions. Already using Router? I'd love to know if there's anything you'd do differently, and why 📝
