I told my 4 year old son that it's perfectly normal and nothing to be ashamed of if one pees their pants. He didn't listen, and is still laughing at me.

#cats #catsofbluesky 1/2 Is anyone out there involved in rescue/adoption groups? What are some things I can do to make my house more attractive to the agencies that make the decision whether or not to adopt? Also, I've seen that some of the cats at a particular shelter have been there for over 10

2/2 years. Is that a worrisome bit of information? Does that make you think that these are shelters that make it very difficult to adopt from them? Just trying to avoid frequent heartbreak and rejection. I do own my house, no HOA problems, very quiet neighborhood, but we have 3 boys ages 5, 9, 12

So, turns out when Koshian is 'shy' that means he's really REALLY shy, and would be miserable in an active house with 3 young and noisy boys. We won't be able to adopt Koshian, and since he's bonded with Amaguri, I wouldn't feel right about breaking them apart. So.... back to looking.

Have a special spring vacation class that goes for 6 days. My assigned room is room: 404. I chuckle to myself, "Uh oh, room 404, I won't be able to find it." stupid internet humor. The rooms on this floor don't have any numbers written on them. It's just 'guess which one is yours!' Err......

Just picked up some really great games on Steam, super deep cuts, saved about $50 on them, only spent $20.... Now, to let them sit in my library, unplayed, for years, next to the other games that I bought and never touched for years after purchasing. Because that's what it means to be an adult...

Reading student journals. One student decided to share his hobby this year. He went to the movie theater about 100 times and probably spent over 150,000 yen in total. I... I have no response to that. He seems to have no regrets, so... okay! Sounds like he had a lot of fun.

Party time is over. We got some big wins, but just getting one good punch in doesn't mean you won the boxing match. GOP is already screaming about 'affordability' and trying to adopt our strategies to appeal to their base. Don't let them take that talking point. It's ours! Fuck them.

Get to work, look in my desk for today's quiz. Hmmm.. Forgot to print it. Okay. Open Computer to load the libre office draw file. No permission. Shit. Hmm. Turn on Steam Deck. Open Dropbox, try to load same file. Success! Print to PDF, copy to a USB, take it to a work computer and print the quiz.

Sitting on the train next to a little old lady. I'm doing a lesson on Duolingo and she keeps peeping at my phone. Then she pulls out her phone and starts a Duolingo lesson. Haha

Linux Post(s): So, I redesigned all of my syllabi using LibreOffice Draw, a program that works in both Windows and Linux. When I was using my laptop yesterday, (Win11) I made a small fix on a mistake in one of the files and printed to file (PDF) to update it on Google Classroom.

3/ I found that odd that the same program made a PDF printout of the same file, but depending on the host OS the PDF size difference was a matter of 3x the size. Just a curious finding of mine. That's all.

2/ Then when I got home, I noticed ANOTHER tiny mistake on the syllabus, so I opened up the Draw file on my PC (Garuda Linux) and fixed it, then printed to file as version 3. When uploading to Google Classroom, I noticed that the file when made on Windows was 450KB in size, but Linux was 150KB.

We're not callous and unfeeling. We've told them time and time again what will happen if they vote for him. They ignored us. Now they reap what they sew. It's the equivalent of letting the child touch the hot stove. Except we're not going to grab ice packs and kiss the ouchie.

Putting together a small group project for students: Imagine you're going to go to New York City for a week. You want to rent a 50cc moped/scooter (げんつき）for the week. Go online, research what you need to do to rent a moped. Find out what license you need and how much it costs.

In my writing classes, there are three short essays that are due throughout the semester. Nothing big, just little essays where the form and writing process is focused on. One student comes up to me after class asking for permission to write about a specific topic: Comparing McDonald's in Japan 1/
