It's been such a staggering change from when I was able-bodied that it's hard to confront let alone even begin describing how much worse everyone treats you when you're disabled. I've been passed over for work, lost friends and partners, and get treated like shit by random people in public.

Do you really want to get abuse hurled at you in public when you need a stick to walk down the street? Do you want people to stop even trying to understand you if you can't talk? Do you want ambulance workers to physically hurt you as punishment when you can't respond the way that they want you to?

Not to be all memento mori but this shit *will* come for you, it's just a matter of time, and you'll never know when or how it'll happen. Whether you're willing to be supportive and open to the needs of disabled people or not, you will end up facing whatever social climate you help create.

The practical stuff is at least understandable. I physically cannot do most work; I have a lot of neurodivergent friends who forget that other people exist if they aren't regularly prompted; I'm no longer able to be a reliable host, or a reliable GM. What I can't understand is the lack of respect.

I regret to inform you - yes, you, reading this post - that if you're not already disabled (and you don't get hit by a bus or something) you 100% will be in the future. Your parents, friends, partners, and even children will become disabled. It's a terrifying but universal part of human existence.

I'm always left wondering I'm too pushy and demanding asking for accommodations, and whether I'm being too open and honest about my limitations (actually this one I know; any amount of openness is too much). It always feels like an imposition and it's clear people would prefer I didn't cause a fuss.

A fantastic thread that mirrors many of my own thoughts about 40K and its gender politics and the way Games Workshop and its community are forced to walk a difficult tightrope (in my personal opinion, one they have largely failed). Worth the read.

This line I saw someone say reminded me of a whole load of thoughts I have about Space Marines and gender, so I'm gonna use it to go on a tangent. Space Marines, and 40k in general, are in a weird place thematically.

I don't know if it's the caffeine or the fact that today is relatively pain-free but I have that game design dog in me today I've been trying to forcibly pry my brain away from Far Field this month to give myself more time to recover, but all that's happened is I've gotten more creative

Just in case anyone thinks that this was a reasonable response, here's my prior email which said quite explicitly that I have attended many times before, and that the reason for my non-attendance was explicitly their lack of AI policy and protections.

This campaign was incredible and Chris did a really amazing job both prepping and running. The combats with these enemies were super fun; if you're running Fabula Ultima you should definitely check them out.

In late 2025/early 2026 I ran a game of Fabula Ultima from level 5 to level 22. Doing so required spinning up over a hundred enemy stat blocks, at least some of which never got used because the players kept dodging my planned encounters. Get all of them here, for free.

Oh for fuck's sake @ukge.bsky.social

THIS JUST IN for the UKGE AI debacle, they're at it again! It's actually laughable, they clearly don't vet the content they put out, and I'm not sure we can really give the benefit of the doubt and say it's Canva now (posts made on Canva get flagged as AI on Instagram). These are generated images.

Submitted a lengthy email to their contact address expressing my displeasure. I suggest other creators and potential attendees do the same. This is a clear indication that the culture inside the UKGE team is sympathetic to genAI and we need to pressure them to change.

I've run Shadow of the Wolf like three different times for different groups and may very well end up doing it again soon, it's easily one of my top 3 favorite ttrpg modules and a real contender for number 1. Almost all 12 total players I've had for it got really obsessed with the game as a result.

Latest Far Field draft (v0.9.2) is up over on Pilot NET! If you're thinking of running a playtest, go check it out now - we're moving towards release at a rapid clip and there's only so much time left to incorporate feedback! #LancerRPG #FarField

Developed in the last years of the Second Committee, the Everest pattern now known as the Sagarmatha experienced some of the bloodiest infighting ever witnessed in Union's history. Both SecComm loyalists and revolutionary forces fielded countless variants in fratricidal struggle.

Been thinking a lot about that "what if you had a $10,000 budget to make a TTRPG" post this morning and I can't figure out whether my main takeaway is that everyone in this industry is horribly underpaid, or if the majority of indie games only exist because designers do most of the work themselves

Someone in the comments is talking about per-word writing rates that I wouldn't get out of bed for, and from talking to a bunch of artists it sounds like it's even worse out there for them right now The answer, as always, is probably "both"

`I think if every tabletop game had an introductory module to this quality, getting into tabletop would be a lot easier`, is the kind of comment I get semi-regularly about Shadow of the Wolf, and reinforces my genuine and long-held belief that we do some of the best module design in the industry

These mfers are writing spicy fanfiction on AO3 and drawing insanely horny smut of the NPCs. They're queering the hell out of already-queer stories. They conspire with each other to find the most fucked up ways to traumatise their characters and make everyone and everything Worse (/positive)

I never anticipated any of this when I started, but getting to be a part of this makes me so happy and keeps me going through the tough days where I can barely put fingers to keyboard. Lancer fans are the absolute best, I love you all 💜

Even just the sub-fandoms for specific modules alone blows my mind. There are a bunch of Lancer modules that have active subcommunities of their own, with fanart, fanfiction, homebrewing etc. that I haven't seen a parallel to outside of something like Curse of Strahd.

The best part about my brain coming up with random ideas at 1am is my notes app gets filled with wonderful nonsense. Who is Jeff? Why does he love fungus so much? We may never know

Catching up on Lancer: Daybreak, and shouting through the screen at my Infantry squads like I'm Rita Repulsa shouting at her putties as they fail to kill the Power Rangers

Drew my One Ring character Morwen, Fang of the Mountains. She's a champion of the Dúnedain, and she reckons she could take a troll in one-on-one combat if she got lucky.

My recent pace has been absolutely glacial because I'm still in a lot of pain and can't work much, but I'm extremely happy to report that I've finally finished the first pass of the alien creature writeups. One more step towards the game being content-complete. #LancerRPG #FarField

Going to take another break before I take a run up at the remaining Discipline writeups, but once those are done we'll finally be in revision and editing territory

Oh, did the paint on your CHILDKILLER-9000 american-style SUV that you parked half up on the pavement to block pedestrians get a little scratched? I don't know what to tell you, ma'am; yes I'm aware my bag has sharp studs on it but those scratches could have come from anywhere, who is to say

I see that Shadowrun Anarchy 2E is continuing a long and proud Shadowrun tradition, and rejecting the outlandish notion that new players might want to understand how to create a character

I had mentally written off UKGE, so this is a welcome change. I might even go back next year. 🤔
