I understand how annoying it must be to have "bleeding hearts" in your life that constantly remind you about dying cows over in whereeverthefuckistan or other "small" tragedies, but honestly if the thought of any tragedy doesn't upset you in the slightest then you're the problem

Prime example of gender-essentialism being masked misogyny is whenever a cis women is skeptical about the validity of transwomen she'll defend patriarchal norms. "If trans women are women, why won't they go into the kitchen and clean the house like a real woman should do?"

Sara Millerey González was assaulted, had all of her limbs broken, and then thrown in a river for passerby to record her drowning and if you're still not considering activism you're nothing more than a sniveling coward who, in my mind, is okay with this happening

I'll double down on this too. I don't care if you're unable to march like I can, if you're on this website the least you can possibly do is be vocal in your support for the trans community and if you can't do that much then we are not friends.

Began reading Brave New World and oh my god it sucks so far as a satire. Alduous Huxley wrote a self-victimization of red scare propaganda and wrote a book that perfectly describes a capitalist dystopia, but is branded as communist because "communism is when government does things :["

Close enough, welcome back thought police from 1984

Effective immediately, the government says it will begin screening immigrant social media for activity that officials think indicates support for antisemitism.

Every article today reads like "One hundred thousand people died of the blood-screaming-and-dying-virus, coincidentally after the Administration fired their blood-screaming-and-dying virus research department, but we've yet to find a cause for how the virus got this bad"

Just saw the minecraft movie and my honest opinion was that it was really good. It works because it doesn't take itself seriously at all, it's just letting you have fun with the characters and their interactions, and that's what the game is about anyways

It's not a "turn your brain off" movie, it's a "just have fun" movie. I will admit, my theater was REALLY into the memes /we all clapped when Steve said the funny lines, and that probably carried the experience for me, but I think that's the intent. You have to watch this movie with friends

It's fascinating the amount of hurdles people will jump to rationale violent crimes (video games, diets, etc) before they begin to blame the economic system that tells you to either exploit or be exploited, to either adapt or die. A dogmatic view is inevitable without the tools to overcome it

Saying this bc I scrolled past a reel about a podcast where this woman was blaming the diets of kids on school shootings- and while your diet does play a part, the world in which you grow up in- decided purely by economic factors- is so much more of a factor that it decides your diet, too.

I think after 13 years of playing minecraft I might finally kill the ender dragon No it's not a forever world, I just booted up a new world today and the seed was just so good that I was finally able to find a nether fortress within a reasonable distance, which is usually the thing that stops me
