I spent a few weeks reporting at rural mission hospitals in Africa to see how they're doing after our big cuts to humanitarian aid. Rural health institutions are adapting, but they've lost a lot of staff and it's chaotic. more to come www.christianitytoday.com/2026/07/hiv-...

A retired Maryland immigration judge was in Minneapolis over the weekend visiting family. He saw firsthand the ‘unhinged’ tactics of Border Patrol — was tear gassed and saw a man tackled for accidentally bumping into an agent after slipping on ice. www.thebanner.com/politics-pow...

Absent from protests, some Twin Cities churches are nonetheless mobilizing quietly to help foreign-born neighbors—delivering food, driving kids to and from school, committing to assume parental rights if the worst happens. Great dispatch from my colleague @emilybelz.bsky.social

Worth noting that one reason you’re benefitting so fully from the Star-Tribune’s timely, extensive coverage of unfolding events is that it’s a metro newspaper that hasn’t been systematically starved to further enrich shareholders and executives.

With this one I'm struck not just by the highlighted error, but also by the fact that the sentence laboriously works its way to correcting the searcher's impression (?) that a previous Pope Leo (c. 1900 at the latest) would have been a critic of the Trump administration?

Haven't yet had the words to share my big news, but here goes: Last month, I left @christianitytoday.com after 13 years as an editor and reporter and started a new role at Praxis, an org that works with entrepreneurs motivated by their faith to address major social issues: www.praxis.co/about

praxis.coAbout PraxisPraxis is a venture-building ecosystem advancing redemptive quests, supporting founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time.

This is a huge move for me, and I trust it's the right one, but I'm leaving the most professionally and spiritually formative spaces of my life. I am so, so grateful for for all my CT colleagues, writers, sources, and readers.

I'm going to miss Christianity Today so much, and I believe there's no other outlet like it in Christian journalism. Continuing to read, follow, and cheer them on from the outside (even though it feels so weird!).
