Just saw someone walking their big fluffy white cat on a lead. Not quite sure what to make of that, sort of cat that should be sitting on Blofeld's lap, not walking round the block in a tartan jacket.

I've decided I have officially reached middle age, having replaced our old plastic bathroom light cord with a nice handmade glass handle from Etsy. (I'm sure there are other signs but that's the one I've noticed)

@superbreeze.bsky.social Packing for what to wear to this posh do in London tomorrow night, I need to channel some of your style as I'm staring at my wardrobe and it's just giving me a clueless shrug in return. Not sure they'd let me in wearing jeans and muddy boots.

I'm entirely surrounded today by engineers wearing entirely grey, with entirely grey conversations. Feeling a strong urge to let off some party poppers or throw some streamers as this is a very difficult way to muster enthusiasm on an entirely grey Monday morning.

FACTCHECK: UK Conservatives double the ‘cost of net-zero’ after spreadsheet blunder The Tory "Right Way" booklet makes an erroneous claim about the cost of cutting emissions, possibly taken from a Jan26 thinktank report, and deffo the most idiotic error I've seen for a while 🧵

After hearing mindfulness and breathing trotted out as the magical answer on yet another webinar (this time menopause related chronic pain) I've decided that my wellbeing plan is to sack webinars and just take a proper break at lunchtimes to go and swear with the pigeons by the fountains.

Since its foundation in 1824 the bravery of Royal National Lifeboat Institution volunteers has saved more than 146,700 lives at sea. Hundreds of those volunteers have died attempting to save others. They are the best of us.

Caught the tram, asked for a ticket, conductor asked 'just a single?' and I replied 'no, a double please'. Took me an embarrassingly long moment to remember that's not what a return is called.

My new found rock n roll hobby... I've taken up crochet. Turns out it's the perfect antidote to social media scrolling and way better than that mindfulness nonsense. All I need to do now is find lots of people that want scarfs or slighty wonky bags

Worst bit of heatwaves for me is the bus journey home. It's like sitting in a greenhouse for twenty+ minutes, even a fan is no good, it just blows hot air at me. Wish I'd remembered my water bottle 🫠

It really is remarkable that we’ve seen 35°C reached in 4 consecutive months, May, June, July, August, the previous record was 2. We’ve also now beaten 1995 for most days >30°C ever recorded. No other year since records began matches summer 2026. 🥵

Italian researchers found that semi-transparent solar panels over olive groves increased olive yields by 12%, reduced water evaporation by 19%, generated clean electricity, and even improved olive oil quality. 🌿⚡🫒 #Agrivoltaics #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #ClimateSolutions

Got randomly taking classics with a workmate today, figured that for some people climate folks are like Cassandra, screaming hysterical nonsense that they'll never believe and nothing will change their minds. Oh well 🤷

Facepalm articles. Fossil-fuel driven climate change makes wildfires worse by heating and drying the land more. It's that simple.
