Some pretty astonishing global elections news this week; surprise results in Serbia, Brazil, Israel...

The "unit" they worked in was the VIP protection detail. It has to be one of the most heavily vetted units in the Met. At least four concurrent members of that unit were rapists. I do not think the vetting failed, but instead that the vetting simply does not care about that.

Hey, Joan Armatrading, what's your favourite Jane Austen?

I have put link to tickets for my shows with Josie in my bio and it is here www.seetickets.com/tour/josie-l...

In a world in which Michael B Jordan breathes?

@southlondongirl.bsky.social Lanna! Are you having something lovely for dinner, after last night's disappointment?

My boss has messaged three of us at 7.07pm about something completely trivial that doesn't need actioning tomorrow (certainly not tonight), so I'm watching a Miss Marple about it. Surprisingly, all the Joan Hickson Marples seem to be available on Channel4.com - fill your boots!

Nothing says "innocent of all charges" like fleeing the country.

Well worth going to see Robin and Josie if you ask me. Unless you are a member of the Conservative Party. Which maybe you are, but I don't think that's a significant chunk of my following here.

Londons! Look! Us and a graaand piaaano!!

It's a pleasantly sunny lunchtime, but I admit I wasn't expecting the gentleman in just short shorts and trainers sitting on a bench with his crutches.

Have been in the office three hours and am unable to locate my will to live. One of the joys of working from home is being able to have a cathartic "And another thing!" rant with a colleague with no fear of being overheard.

Watching the Celeb #PotteryThrowdown final and they have to make a trifle set, which I'm not entirely convinced is a real thing. Richard Herring is theming his on testicular cancer; decorated with plums.

I am currently full of risotto and the first soup of the season is boxed up in the fridge, ready for lunches.

"It has long been a maxim of MJN Air that once Arthur stops helping, we can do anything!"

Just saw Ghosts: the Possession of Button House at the cinema and my wizened heart is gladdened 🎃👻💚

Listening to Cabin Pressure and the drivers are having a bet on cheesecake versus strudel that I've decided was inspired by Guys & Dolls, and am delighted by that.

having the voice actor for daffy duck & bugs bunny on your picket line must have felt like having nuclear capabilities. peace to a legend.

It's also fun and free.

Private equity buys UK fertility clinics. PE already controls social care, hospitals, GP surgeries, dentistry, child fostering. Usual business model. High debt, quality of care declines, prices increase, high profits. When things go wrong, NHS has to step in, PE doesn't pay.

I mean, what’s better than this?

The long-serving strongman leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has conceded defeat in an election that pitted him and his right-wing party against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government.

Can anyone recommend a nice gluten-free bread, available in the UK? My mum's been advised by her doctor to cut out gluten and did NOT enjoy the first loaf she's tried (from the Co-op).

I've left the house and done my grocery shop and now it's dark, so I'm entitled to a little lie down with a blanket. Right?

Couldn’t make an actual sandwich (out of crisps) but here’s a drawing of one in lieu of the real thing #art #CrispSandwichDay

Oddly cheered that Holmes knows nothing about sport or famous sportspeople.

I'm inclined to think no response to this customer review would've been preferable to this AI response, John Lewis

This story went up late on Friday and got less attention than it otherwise might have done. A sentencing hearing on Friday was told three participants in the Tory election-betting scandal - dismissed at the time as "a flutter" - would have made nearly £50,000 if undetected www.ft.com/content/510e...

Genuinely surprising if Mohammed is the most popular name in Rochester Hills - or does he mean the whole of Michigan? That would be a lot of women called Mohammed, huh. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rochest...
