ICE agents or bounty hunters? A raid at Home Depot on Wilshire in Los Angeles earlier today. What’s disturbing is that they’re wearing masks and vests you could buy on Amazon. They’re in unmarked cars, and I don’t see any IDs on the officers — regular SUVs with standard plates.

EVERYBODY WATCH. ICE IS OUT OF CONTROL. Video of SEIU California’s President David Huerta getting assaulted & arrested during an ICE raid in the warehouse district of Downtown Los Angeles today. He’s an LA native, American citizen and labor leader. Don’t turn away.

I don’t get the red-pilled thing. Because when Neo took the red pill, he woke up in a dingy exile community, while those in the matrix lived in virtual opulence, as fodder for some succubus society. Don’t the tech bros want to live in the Matrix, and isn’t capitalism the succubus? I’m confused.

Or are they saying Nature is the succubus? I don’t see how it can be. It literally nurtures. Or is there some other form of mental gymnastics they’re doing?

We need the best educated workforce in the world. We need the best teachers in the world. We need to pay our teachers fairly for the important work they do. No teacher in America should begin at less than $60,000 a year.

From 5am and for the next 12h, a group of Kyiv teenagers were waiting on the site of the russian missile strike which destroyed their friend's home. They hoped he'd be pulled alive out of the rubble. Unfortunately, no miracle happened as their 17yo friend was found dead. This is unbearable.

Even if all of the oriole they sent were gang members (impossible), do you think it’s a good idea to put all the gang members in one place and treat them in a way that reinforces their views and lets them organize even more? There have to be better solutions to curb violence.

Thanks for the reading list. Downloaded the list of books removed from the Naval Academy’s Nimitz Library. Whoever made up the list has zero intellectual curiosity and is seriously hamstringing future Naval Academy graduates. It’s giving them an extra hurdle of shame and embarrassment.

I can’t imagine how much we’re going to end up spending in legal fees to defend all of these cases. And for what? What is this giving us as a society? It’s crazy-making. This country is being run by lunatics.

Great. We have a State DOGE now and all four of our commissioners voted to comply in some way. I’m still not sure what they passed. “Republicans have been in total control of Florida’s government for nearly 30 years, and he wants to talk about government waste?” - @nikkifried.bsky.social

Beautiful work. Thought I’d share.

Pope Francis’s "Urbi et Orbi" Easter speech: “How much contempt is stirred up at times towards the vulnerable, the marginalized and migrants...I appeal to all those in positions of political responsibility in our world not to yield to the logic of fear which only leads to isolation from others.”

Jessica: And the American public understands the difference between being deported and being sent to a foreign prison.. If we have a mass murderer in a maximum security American prison, they have more rights than the people being sent there for a lifetime sentence.

Last night was the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the Minutemen of approaching British troops. I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III. Remind you of anyone?

Van Hollen: And it's also important that people understand this case is not just about one man. It's about protecting the constitutional rights of everybody who resides in the United States of America.

Also, if you prescribe to the idea that society mimics biology (which I do), weirdos like me, who think differently from the mainstream are actually increasing efficiency. I wonder what part emotion plays. My mom has moderate cognitive decline and memories with emotions attached are more robust.

This is a ridiculous article. What sort of corporate overlord propagandist came up with this? If your company can be coffee-badged, your systems need work and your employee morale is in the tank. That’s your fault, not the employees’. Take a management course.

usatoday.comWorkers are coffee badging to get around return-to-office mandates. What is it?Workers coffee badge to avoid company mandates to work in the office. They swipe their ID badges to mark their arrival, grab some coffee, go home.

This whole 80% of women like 20% of men is so stupid. You don’t think it’s the same for men? It’s worse! Society trains us to be attracted to ‘hot’ people. Incels don’t want normal women to like them. They’re mad at the hot women for not liking them. 1/

Furthermore, they don’t actually like those women. They just want to prove to other men they can ‘get’ them. But they don’t like anything the girls like. They don’t like their music, their food, their movies, what they talk about. 2/

Why would you be desperate to be with someone you have nothing in common with, other than as an outside marker of your worth? I suggest incels try being actual friends with women first. Put the whole sex thing aside. When you build a real relationship with warmth and regard, the intimacy follows.

The violence needs to stop. Period. How do we stop the violence? Let’s not say, “How do we stop them,” because that promotes violence within ourselves. It’s the violence that is the enemy. We have language. We can solve things without violence. We don’t have to be animals, not that animals are bad.

These are not detainments—they are kidnappings. These are not deportations—they are human trafficking. These are not detention centers—they are concentration camps. Language matters. This is fascism.

Not cute. Not funny. Take this sophomoric bullshit somewhere else. You do realize that blind people need crosswalks to function correctly in order to not be killed, correct? Grow up and get serious. This is not resistance. This is schoolyard oneupmanship at the expense of the vulnerable.
