I’m in Chicago. Seems like a bunch of cities have parades today. But here in Chicago, from our major stations, zilch. Nada. For all the junk they broadcast, seems weird. They could put it on their streaming service…

I no longer go out to the movies so I haven’t seen any of the nominees, but I was hoping for Demi Moore, just because of all her wonderful performances over the years.

So…my mom passed away this week and I couldn’t stand turning on any news channel today…even the ones I like. So I spent the day watching baseball (Cubs), basketball (Bulls) and hockey (Blackhawks). Back to the real world tomorrow.

Great…so we waited all winter to see the Cubs, and they’re on MLB.TV, which of course I don’t get. Was really looking forward to it!

Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins just did a “seventh inning stretch” at the NHL winter classic. It included “root root root for the Blackhawks”, and “let’s get some GOALS” at the end. Excellent! Cubs fans will appreciate.

I saw Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter, and the elder Mayor Daley, in the 1976 Chicago Columbus Day parade. Only weeks before he was elected. I will always remember this.
