I thought P Krug lost his mind when Trump was first elected but it turned out the NYT editors had ruined his column

Paul Krugman only reads blogs and that is why he, unlike everyone else who has been in punditry for decades, has never lost his mind

It's not enough to write 50% of your code with AI these days. No, not even 100% will do. A better target, which I find fairly easy to achieve, is to write 400% of your code with AI.

I have no source for this but I imagine that when companies cite internal numbers about what percent of their code is produced with AI they are simply comparing the accepted LOC in cursor against the total committed lines. So reaching 400% is very doable by this metric

Reading a dense history book about Europe during the reformation and they finally got to the good shit (the effect of new world silver on monetary policy)

My biggest gen z fashion pet peeve is that they never wear band shirts of contemporary bands, or even of bands from after they were born

"What was your baby's first word" is a great opportunity to turn small talk into a demonstration of how much Wikipedia I've read

The main thing I remember about the 2007 writers strike is that all the pent up ideas from 4 months went into a couple of stellar 30 rock episodes. That and the sing along blog

You are up to date.
