When researching your own Ontario trustee candidates, you can do a quick search for who is endorsed by "Together in Education" (which I think is good and grounded in education) and who is endorsed by Campaign for Life or Blueprint for Canada, (which I think are Anti-LGBTQ hate groups).

Ontario municipal elections are tomorrow! I know, they're dull, but also very important. They affect us right where we live. Let's talk Waterloo school trustees. You have to choose three. (if you're not in Waterloo, you'll have to research your own candidates, sorry. I can only do so much)

In 2022, an Anti-LGBTQ hate group called Blueprint For Canada tried to basically take over the WRDSB and other major boards, by running multiple trustee candidates with distinct anti-gay, anti-trans, and anti-critical race theory platforms and very little about education.

I've got my grade 9 tech class making wooden kazoos, adapted from Nick Offerman's woodworking book "Good Clean Fun". It's my absolute favourite grade 9 project. I just watched two of my students walk to their next class playing "Careless Whispers" together on their brand new handmade kazoos.

My 16-yr-old and I watched the original Fargo on Friday night. (He loved it) At one point he says "All these people sound like Americans when they're trying to imitate a Canadian accent!" "Well, they know we're up here somewhere, so they assume we sound like Minnesotans."

I think it would be delightful if "Taco" held on in the English language long after Trump's gone, to refer to leaders and politicians backing down ignominiously, to the point where people have to look up the origin. That would be his greatest legacy. Like Quisling or Gerrymandering.

When I saw Trump gloating about Greenland last night, my reaction was β€œI bet those sneaky Danes just handed him back the 1951 agreement in a new duotang with a few shiny baubles” Jan Dehn: Denmark just got Trump to ramp up the defence of Greenland without making a single meaningful concession.

jandehn.comHow to turn Trump into your little biatchDanish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen just got Trump to ramp up the defence of Greenland without making a single meaningful concession. Other leaders should pay attention - this is how you turn Trum...

The "Trade" war is best understood through the US National Security Strategy (2025) AKA the Don-roe doctrine. "If USAs closest neighbour can resist, the doctrine is dead." It's not about trade. For the Doctrine, a Canada with diversified trade is a prototype that cannot be allowed to succeed.

kevinboucher32.substack.comCanada Isn't Turning to China. It's Doing Something Much More Dangerous. The fight over Canada isn't about trade. It's about whether a sovereign country can diversify its way out of dependence β€” and what happens to American power if it does.

Just keep right on driving past that Rona. You've got a Home Hardware around there somewhere. They have the little local stores, but the Home Hardware Building Centre is the one you want for all that lumber and building materials. The Building Centres are mostly former Beaver Lumber locations.

open.substack.comCanada's Hardware Stores, Ranked by Who Really Owns ThemIs RONA Canadian-owned? I checked. The answer changed in 2023, and almost nobody noticed.

1st day at a new school was 8 hours of info dumps. Also hard to get a word in edgewise. Now I'm at the dentist looking forward to a nice relaxing root canal where nobody is telling me anything and I can't see cause they have my glasses. I can just disassociate and let Air Supply take me away!

Lol. Cmon. Did we need to google Hydronym? We all know what Hydro means from Hydroelectricity & hydraulics. Nym might be a little less obvious, but think for a sec. Pseudonym, acronym, demonym. As in "USA doesn't lend itself to a Demonym, so that's why they stole "American" from the whole continent"
